I've been hearing some frustration around the screen asking that you set the "auto renewal" to On.
Leave your name, affeditor and I will take care of you. Customer service can also turn that off for you if you need.

"Denied" Group - Need Your Help

Hey, trying to figure something out and need your help. I know that many of you told me the Live From AFF showing up as denied after last weeks broadcast. I changed the text in the main profile to add a list of times for the weekly broadcast. This put my group into "pending" status.
I've been trying like mad to recreate the "denied" part. Here's my questions:
1) Did it show your profile as denied?
2) Did it show the group as denied?
3) Can you get into the chat if it's in pending status?
I've heard a lot of "denied" related things this week and I'm trying to narrow it down. Today the same thing happened to Girls Watching Guys On Cam and I heard from many of you.
Just between you and I, there is a quick fix for this:
- As a group moderator, go into the "Edit Group Settings"
- At the very bottom there is a checkbox to "Disable" the group. Check it and save.
- After you can go right back into the Group Settings and turn the group back on.
This resets everything and your group will no longer be in Pending status. You're changes in the group description will be saved too. Credit to NascarFox for this workaround.

Advice Line Abuse or "How the West Was Won"

Hello and a good Monday to you. Just wanted to let you guys know that you should see a dramatic drop in abuse in the advice lines.
I know that's a pretty big claim to make. The advice lines has always been a place where a good conversation could turn into a flame war in the blink of an eye. Not that any of you would ever be so uncivilized! Some of that will always exist, but now the abuse team is going to be much more involved.
So if you see something that goes over the line, hit that abuse link right next to every post and let me know if you can see a difference.

Mr. K, the head of our abuse department has agreed to jump on to the broadcast this week!
When you guys send me questions about the TOU, our practices or what we do about spammers, he's the man I go see to get you answers. He's also the one responsible for ramping up chat support over the past few weeks.
Abuse is one of those areas that gets a lot of people hot under the collar, and I hope this will help give you a little window into how and why.
I know you have many questions for him so add them to this post.

Some Bugs We've Fixed This Week

So, I've been telling you guys that we've fixed 600+ bugs in the last month. The entire company has been focused on fixing bugs and making the site function better. Those fixes were unleashed this past week.
Of those 600+ issues, many of them are background - make it run faster/better/stronger fixes. You will notice the site running better. What I've done is go through all the fixes and pull out the ones I think we would be most interested in. I've tried to focus on the ones I've heard you guys talk about before.
Now, since I like to make an honest effort at understanding and testing these before I post here, I've only made it through 400 bug fixes so far - but before the weekend starts I wanted to give you some I think you'd be interested in. The ones in RED are the ones I've heard about directly from you, or have been much discussed.

Search and Communication:
MC-86 - unable to to send email. No confirm Number is showing up to copy.
MESG-340 ‒ Standalone IMC: Member is unable to login
IACT-70 - Members not seeing some flirts that have been sent to them
IACT-84 - Kudos - Some members with the highest number of Kudos were not showing on the "Members with Top Kudos" list
BCST-601 - Can not view more than 1 page of results on Live webcams page
SRCH-55 - Who's Online Now/Online match - Sometimes online members were not showing up even when they matched your cupid settings
MC-112 - SMS/Phone confirmation codes not being sent for mobile phone notifications
EMAL-351 - Member receive unread message notification in top toolbar; however, no message shows
SRCH-316 - Error page when viewing,"See My Online Matches" Who's Online Now page

It was really great chatting with you guys. I really appreciate your time, in real-time. Let's do it again next Thursday. Let me know if 3PM Pacific works for everyone. I'm thinking a little later in the day may work better for some of you.
Here's some notes on things I captured and will follow up on. If I missed anything, leave it in the comments.
- Profile information goes missing randomly. I'll give you an update on this bug (ACCT-607)
- Some testimonials have gone missing. If I have this one right, it seems to be more recent testimonials and they started disappearing a few weeks ago.
- The Group home page does not accurately reflect the number of people in the chat. Sometimes the home page will show nobody or just a few people in the chat, when in reality there are a bunch of people there. I'll see what the refresh rate is for that page.
- Signatures are going into pending approval forever and can't be changed.
- The backgrounds for Groups have disappeared. When did this start happening for everyone?
- GatorL7 has a list on page 4 of the July suggestions I need to check out, and pictures are losing votes.

Hey there.
So I thought I'd start a little webcast on Thursdays at 3 PM Pacific.
Head over to Live From AFF and join the chat to talk. I'll have my webcam broadcasting as well so you can see how hard at work I am.
There are a lot of questions that I know some of you really want to ask, or things you think I need to be paying attention to. This is an opportunity to talk to me, tell me where to look and get real time answers about the things you care about. I'll be 100% on your questions and not distracted by anything else.
I will not be naked, no.
But I will try to have some guests on from around the office so you can get an idea of who works here. It won't be Conan, but I will try to make it interesting. We'll see how it goes. I'll stay online at least for a 1/2 hour even if no one shows. See you then.

Thought I'd start the week with some good news.
We've fixed 342 bugs in the last month.
If you've noticed we haven't been releasing any new features for the last few months. The entire team has been focused on fixing bugs. I'm not kidding. We haven't been allowed to do anything else. These fixes (and a few more) will go in early August. I'll get you a list of the ones you care about most as soon as I'm sure they are ready.
There's a really nice site redesign on the way that should make some tasks super simple. For example, being able to save Linking Tags in a favorite list instead of looking at the bottom of blogs to find the code. Real picture albums are coming too, so that you can finally post that pic of your sweet ass car if you want.
The image size in blogs should be fixed by the end of the week. We'll set it so the image size should max out at 600 x 700.
We've got a new contest starting next week with a summer blockbuster theme. I think you'll see a lot of things happen to Harry Potter that you never imagined.
Keep the suggestions coming.

Testimonials are now being reviewed for Spam
So I get these too. Sitting in my testimonials right now I have:
kelly - 22 yrs old, she's single and up for anything fun
casee - wants me join her in her world of fantasies
Nicole - Thinks I'm HOT and wants to chat at cutei_nicole87 AT yEAhu0 dat cUm
At first I was like, "Oh hell yeah. I'm totally famous on Affairlook and tons of hot 23 year old women so want me." Then I slowly realized these girls where probably other doods looking to get something out of me. So yes, there is a bit of a loophole for spammers here. I know it's frustrating, especially for guys.
That's why earlier this week we started putting all testimonials through our abuse queue. That means the testimonials are being reviewed now (they weren't earlier). This should really help cut down on on the fakes that reach you through testimonials.
Let me know if you see a decrease. It would help to get feedback on how it's working.

Problems with getting logged off and restarting the session

Hey guys - Site Support wanted me to pass something along that has been helping with the restart session error. I know some of you have been getting this all the time lately.
Here's the note from Site Support:
"If you are having issues with being logged off and getting the restart session page we have found a program that is consistently causing the issue.
If you have Webroot Spy Sweeper installed on your computer please do the following to resolve your issue:
1. Launch Webroot
2. Click Options
3. Click Always Apply tab
4. Click on the Affairlook.com cookie and highlight it
5. Click the Always Ignore button
There may be similar programs causing session restart errors. We recommend that you temporarily disable your anti-virus, malware or spyware program to determine if it is the cause of your issue."
Please let me know if this does or doesn't work. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.
