EIGHT BUFFALOES AND ONE BISON

I’ve just found out that a bison and a buffalo are not the same species. Bison live in North America, plus isolated areas of Poland. Buffaloes live in Africa and Asia.

Ronald Bridges, though he likes to be called RC, has a pet 90-stone bison called Wildthing. In 2008, Wildthing was RC’s best man at the ceremony to renew his wedding vows to his wife, Sherron. The pet bison carried the rings on the end of his horns at the ceremony.

They all live on a small ranch in Texas. Though he has to walk on a fellow bison to enter the home, Wildthing has the free run of the home and even has his own room where he eats and sleeps.

I’ve never eaten buffalo or bison meat, but I do like mozzarella cheese, traditionally made from buffalo milk, on my pizzas.

Last night I was listening to the radio in the middle of the night. On Radio 5 Live's Up All Night, Dotun Adebayo has a regular grammar phone-in show, His guest grammar-heads are Neville Gwynne and Terry Victor. Neville is a stickler for grammatical rules, whereas Terry is more relaxed about rules provided that the meaning and understanding of a sentence remain intact.

Last night the experts were asked whether the sentence, 'Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo', is grammatically correct. The 'eight-buffalo' discussion was riveting, so much so that I didn’t go back to sleep until the issue was resolved!

Have you ever eaten bison or buffalo meat?
How much of a grammar-head are you?
Is 'Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo' a grammatically correct sentence?

There’ll be a salacious prize awarded to the first person who can explain the grammatical correctness or incorrectness of the 'Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo' sentence. No cheating on the Internet!

Another crucial difference between a bison and a buffalo is that a bison will allow other animals to shag it, whereas a buffalo likes to shag other animals!

Have you ever eaten bison or buffalo meat?
Yep- I like it.

How much of a grammar-head are you?
I subscribe to the Terry Victor school of thought.

Is 'Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo' a grammatically correct sentence?
The question is as meaningless as the string of words that you're masquerading as a sentence. I don't even think it qualifies as a sentence, unless you're Sarah Palin or Waylon Jennings. A sentence requires a subject and predicate and conveys a thought or idea of some kind. This is more like a Montana dinner menu.

Grammatically correct is inconsequential if the frigging sentence makes no sense. Are you trying to buffalo me? I have had buffalo served to me in Colorado. I ate it all, except for the bullshit my date was feeding me.

I know the answer to the "buffalo-buffalo-buffalo ad-nauseum" question.
But I learned it from the interwebs.

Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

I am not a grammar Nazi. I feel there are too many important matters to single out a poorly executed sentences. That said, I will correct anyone that acts me a question.

No matter what you call it, "yummy!" would be my name for the meat.

I've never eaten buffalo or bison meat.....don't intend to either.

I would think good grammar is pretty important.

Well Buffalo is a proper noun and buffalo is a type of animal so I have a horrible feeling it could possibly be a grammatically correct sentence....though why anyone would want to use it is beyond me.
