What about those Canadian Geese flying in a "V"?
I have a thirst for odd facts. So, when I have the afternoon off on the road, to fill the time, I look things I thought about during my driving hours.
So, what about that "v" formation all the time? Well, not all the time, occasionally I spy the geese in in angled line behind the lead Goose.
Same reason.
The geese naturally know about aerodynamics.
See, the first goose in flight disturbed the air current with its flapping wings. That movement of air causes the space behind and to the side of that goose to be easier for the next goose to flap its wings, fly and keep in line.
So on and so as the geese line up on each side of the lead flapper to stay aloft and move forward with less energy.
Then as the lead goose gets tired as the leader uses more energy to fly, it is the community way of the geese for another to take over until that goose gets fatigued. That change out continues to their destination.
Thus the vee flight pattern.
OK< this fact is just "fill in" should there be a lull in a conversation, or an award moment/comment caused a need for interjection of something to break the ice.

That Darn Food Diet

While in line at the local grocery, I was buying a 16 pound bag of food to try out for my yard/security buddy. The lady behind me asked "So, do you have a dog?"
Thinking this was stupid, I answered "NO". I tried the food diet 4 months ago and lost 26 pounds. Thought I would give it another try.
"why did you stop the first time?" she asked.
To which I told my story about the experience.
I ended up in a hospital for 6 weeks with tubes every where. IV things hooked to my arms. Daily blood test and bed pan use. I have finally healed up. You see, I filled all my pockets with the food to replace any and all snacks for the day.
I munched on the food when I felt the need for pastry or a candy bar. ON the second day of the diet -- I stepped off the curb to sniff a poodle's ass and a car hit me.
thus the hospital stay.

I have been trucking for 29 years now. America is truly beautiful. Mountains, plains, and varied forest types. interrupted by the heavy traffic of all of its crowded cities.
I got this minds eye. If I am headed from Birmingham, Alabama to Cook Minnesota - I already can picture as I set out, the views I am going to see tomorrow. The Dells of Wisconsin are burned into my brain. One particular rock out cropping South of Tomah near Camp Douglas is a landmark for me.
The view even includes curves, ramps for interstate changes, plus where to stop to eat, and where my driving hours will end.
BUT, with all that highway sights and road knowledge -- If the wife gives me even 3 things to get at the grocery -- I go to sure write them down - I can't remember grocery list items for shit!
Nada! So, it is safe for me to have at hand a small yellow tablet for just that purpose. Bingo --Now I can go 8 miles - with a correct return.

Man, I have done well with this 5 year no sex..
It has been damned great for my memory. Memory? Sure, I have to make my mind recall - over n over - the tiny details of foreplay and sex.
Good thing to hold off the lack of mental control in seniors.

I am quite fond of estate sales. The events give me the
chance to not think about highways and road danger.
I just scored a very nice well used Duster. Several worn spots, and thin places in the leather.
Also got a weathered white cowboy hat at another estate sale the same weekend.
I think I will put forward a picture or three in the western wear.
In the hallway of an old barn. or Leaning on a roll of hay?
Or getting out of a pickup truck? I do not know yet.
