Aloha,
We are taking a breath right now, stopping the machine for a minute and oiling it up. We're pulling our collective heads out of our asses and looking around. What this means is we are going to take the next month to focus on the bugs that need fixing. I'm sure this will come as welcome news.
We have our own list of things that need to get fixed, but we want to make sure we are focusing on the things you want the most. For my part, I will collect all of your bugs and stand in front of our CEO and all the top brass and let them know what you want fixed. If they don't fire me on the spot, then I'll be able to push many of them to get fixed.
I'll also let you know which ones will get fixed and do my best to explain why others won't. Here is what we are looking for:
What are bugs?
Stuff that doesn't work like it should. Here is a few examples:
* In your testimonials the "View All" Link for Classic View is not showing on profile page
* In the Blogs the "Watch Post" link disappears
* You get logged out for no reason
* When answering your emails the number next to "Inbox" indicating an unread message doesn't change
* Sometimes in your Friends Network it shows that member is online but when you view their profile, they're not
What are not bugs?
* Changes in policy - Like allowing external links in blogs, or allowing people to post pics of their motorcycle.
* Adjusting Current Functionality - Like creating a site wide ban on a user if you block them, or dropping the voting in advice lines.
* New Stuff - Like allowing meetups to be linked to Groups, or being able to choose which testimonials are displayed on your profile

Blocking Members - Need Your Input

I've been hearing from you that Blocking a member isn't really effective. Many people are saying that a member can still read your blog and they shouldn't be able to.
Right now you can Block the Flirts and Messages from any individual member. I think the correct change is to block them site wide. They can't see your profile, see your blog or find you in search. Basically you fall off the face of Affairlook as far as they are concerned.
Now I'm having a little trouble convincing my bosses that we need to make this change. It's a pretty big one to implement. The more input I get, the more ammo I have.
So I want to hear from you. How important is blocking a member site wide to you? If you have other ideas, please leave them in the comments.

Because of the ice storm that the Most Respected Responder list caused over on the advice lines, it's been taken out back and shot.

You can probably imagine all the freaky shit that comes across our desks. We have piles of cock toys and porn that companies just send to us.
The websites we see are pretty intense too. Imagine if it was OK to watch porn at work. No, imagine you were expected to be watching porn at work. Now imagine how many links you would send your coworkers and how deep into the web you would go to find new material.
Well, we found a couple that makes animal dildos. Great find, but then we contacted them and got an interview.

UPDATE 3/25 - OK, it's finally working again! Sorry for the delay.
Hello and a good Monday to you. It's raining like hell and the carpet in my house is flooded. Wet carpet is the worst.
Working on a few fixes this week. I'm looking into a lot of what's been posted - working on answers and I'll post them as I get them.
Many have noted that the Watch this post link is gone. Indeed it is. It should be back by Wednesday this week.

Your Friends - Control What They See About You

More good news today for ya.
One of the problems with the new profile was that you couldn't hide your activities from your friends. We've fixed that. Now you can choose which activities you want to show to specific friends. You can choose to show no activities to anyone if you want.
You can also choose which of your friends activities you see on your profile.
It makes more sense when you see it. Go here:
Your Account Main --> Scroll down to the Preferences section --> Click Friend Activities
On this page you will see two tabs. One controls what others see about you, and the other controls what you see about your friends

UPDATE #1: Damn! They giveth and they taketh away. Just when I had something good to share, it's taken down. Well, no need to worry. I've convinced the powers that be that we need it. The bugs are getting straightened out and it will be up later today or early tomorrow morning.
So again, you'll get the old view back, you'll have a link today or tomorrow morning at the bottom of any profile.

OK, good news for all the new profile haters. You can switch back! Here's what you do -
Scroll to the very-very bottom of any profile, including yours.
Under the banner Ad, on the right hand side will be a link that says "Switch to Classic Profile View."
Click this and you'll get the old view back.
So one problem right now, it doesn't work from page to page. I know, wtf right? Don't worry, we're fixing that bug right now. Should be fixed shortly.

Guten Tag,
So I had a suggestion over the weekend that I start a suggestion blog. Here it is. Hit me with it. I can take it. Just try not to hit me in the head, I'd like to avoid califlower ear.
I may not answer every post like the site support blog does, but the answers you get from me will be honest. I will read everything and make sure others above me do as well. I'm focused on solutions to bugs, features, new ideas, old problems. For those of you who have been around for a long time, keep in mind - you know the site better than I do. I need to learn from you still.
I like the format that site support has, a new blog every month. I'll keep that going for now.
