So, I got a seriously nasty sunburn over the weekend and have been in a great deal of pain, having difficulty sleeping and difficulty wearing clothing that covers my shoulders as that's the most burned part. My shoulders, upper arms, chest and upper back are now covered with tiny little blisters and hurt like HADES!!! Will I never learn that fair skinned chicks (or guys) need to use sunscreen or suffer for days???

Yesterday I spent the day with many of my favorite people doing something completely enjoyable. I took my boys, a couple of their friends and my HoneyBunny to the Scottish Highland Games in Waukesha. We wandered around looking at the different clan displays, watched the Caber toss, weight toss, pipe & drum competition, battle axe & knife throw, long bow competition, rugby games....We'd gone last year and really enjoyed it so decided to go again this year. And again we had an amazingly fun time. The only downside, for me, is the sunburn I'm suffering with today. Silly, pale-skinned me didn't put on sunscreen and have ended up very loster-like.... A small price to pay for all of the fun....

I'll have to admit that many of my blog posts are bitching about one thing or another so, I've decided to take today and list things I'm greatful for, in no particular order: 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, central air, my HoneyBunny, my , laughter, sunshine, sleeping late, getting up early, coffee, iced tea, kisses, hugs, hearing my 2 year old nephew say "I wuv you teetee winnie" (I love you Aunty Linda), laughter, thunderstorms, snuggling in bed with my Sweetie....Chocolate, in any form... cruise control, long weekends.... And that's just the short list... I think so often I get caught up in the mundane-ness of every day life, I forget to be thankful for the gifts I've been given.

Not that my hair style is any great shakes but JEEZ, do my hair in the AM and it gets rained on & I look like a drowned chihuahua....I'd love to see a few sunny days in a row...Over the weekend would be REALLY nice but I'm not holding my breath...

OK, I need to lay a little background here for the story....My middle who will be 19 soon has been dating this girl (I hesitate to call her a woman even though she IS over 1for nearly a year. And yes, she is the one I allowed to move in here when her parents kicked her out. (HUGE mistake but...) Generally, the fight like cats & dogs, daily, LOUDLY. She is a DRAMA QUEEN, extraodinaire...MUST be the center of attention all the time, must be the focus of everyone, all the time. She lies, cheats, manipulates and is really mean to my . I have exhausted every kind thing I can and have moved on to...treating her with marginal indifference. She is, after all, hurting my baby. SO, last night the decide to go to the Dodge Co. fair to see Alice Cooper and she's being a total bitch....SO, the is screaming at her on the phone and it's nearly midnight & I'm trying to go to sleep so I say to the boy "Keep it down a bit, it's late".... ANYWAY, I go to run some errands this AM and when I get back, SHE is here.... PISS me off...I wish I could just tell him to kick her to the curb without annoying him.

So after my early AM trip to Racine, I got a little "bonus" and met my HoneyBunny for breakfast.....It continues to amaze me that we never run out of things to talk about, laugh about, share....My older boys got to meet his this week when they helped move the from one location to another in Madison....SO, my 20 & 19 year old boys come home from the day in Madison just AMAZED at the number of "hot chicks" in Madison. I've heard rumor that my HoneyBunny had to roll my 20 year olds tongue back into his mouth a few times after an especially prime piece of eye candy bent over in front of him......God, I love

Whom ever invented the idea that people should be awakened by an alarm clock so they can keep their appointments should be SHOT. I mean, really, I'm snuggled in my bed, enjoying some much needed sleep when suddenly, the alarm clock starts SCREAMING at me to get up, get moving and hurry up so I won't be late for my appointments today....I need to win the lottery or something so I don't HAVE to listen to that eternally annoying sound ever again....

So my HoneyBunny invited me to this family gathering yesterday. He wasn't all that excited about going but after I said I'd go, and his said he was going, we all went. It was fun to meet some more of the family. Something that I'd not really considered before was that since my family has moved away, I MISS family get-to-gethers..... I miss the bonding and camradrie of it all. Seeing how families are connected and how they interact....The laughter and conversations....We left Franklin and drove his back to Madison & dropped him at his frat house....We stopped at my house and stayed the night....Played with some new and interesting toys....And had a really great time....

So I turn it on and it WORKS!!! HALLELUAH!!!! So about 6pm, I check voice mail and the HVAC guy called while I was out and says "Well, I'm gonna be gone for the weekend so I'll try & call ya Monday". Bastardo....At least it's cool in here....

So on one of the hotter days of August, I'm busy cleaning...Behind the fridge, the stove, etc and DAMN, it's getting warm....Well, wonder of wonders, my central AC has brain freeze or something and it's NOT working....Piss me off....And of course, the landlord is working 2nd shift so he's NO help at all...Fuck, shit, God damn.....Left a note taped to his back door and HOPEFULLY, we can get some cool air flowing here in the AM

And it's still only Sunday. Had a pretty quiet weekend, was supposed to spend some time with my HoneyBunny but he flaked me off....again..... Had some stuff to do with his and that's understandable but then at least have the common decency to TELL me that so I don't sit around waiting for you to call & tell me you're cmoing here when you have no inclination to do so. I had about 10 other things I could have done if only he'd have told me he had other plans. SO, I'm annoyed and irritated and just a bit confused as to what game, exactly, he's playing....

Spent my day in Illinois for an appointment that was over 90 minutes late, drove home in HIDEOUS traffic and am just tired. I'd kill for someone to rub either my shoulders or my feet or both.... Tomorrow is Baraboo and then Milwaukee on Wednesday so it's down hill from here, thank God.....

Actions vs Words

Do actions really speak louder than words?
What does one do if the actions are polar opposites of words?
Where does the truth lie? Actions? Words?
Somewhere in between the two?
Does belief, then, hover somewhere between fact and fiction?
What is to be more believed as truthful? Trustworthy?
The spoken word or the actions that are demonstrated?
