Last Tuesday would have been the 70th Birthday of the Late Lamented Terry Pratchett. Author of the "Discworld" series of Novels, he has over the years provided me with many hours of entertainment

A*F*F* Does not have the worst IT support in the World 
I know this may shock some of the users of this site, but it is true!!
I posted last week about having trouble with my Online Banking here in the UK. I eventually managed to get into my account, and thought no more about it.
This morning I needed to make a money transfer, so when I tried to log in I got a "Server Unavaiable, please try later" message, this is now 9 days that the Bank site has had problems! But it gets worse, the next time I tried to log in, I was told I neded to change my password, as I was trying to do this the site shut down my account and opened up another page with a Helpline Number.
I rang the the number from my mobile phone, after waiting in a queue for over 20 minutes i eventually got through to a person. After explaining my problems to him he asked for my account number, he paused and seemed puzzled by the number.
Then came the Hammer Blow, he didn't work for my Bank!! Years ago my Bank had been taken over, but both Banks kept there own identity, last year they had been split up again but had shared computer facilities. The IT problems started because my Bank was setting up their own IT dept. and transferring data from the shared facility. The phone number I had been given belonged to the old bank!!
After a further 40 minutes queueing, I got through to my own Bank and got my transfer done 
I will never complain about this site again

When I tried to do some online banking yesterday, I found that the site was closed due to an Upgrade Over Run
It is still unavailable this morning!!
Sound familiar? I wonder if the people carrying out the upgrades, are the same as the ones employed by A*F*F*

Well that is Easter over for another year

My asked me could I drive him to work this morning, no problem his car needed a service. I followed him to the garage, and then drove him to work.

Good Morning all Happy Friday
It seems like the whole of the UK has been shut down by "The Beast from the East" as the papers are calling it. Strong Easterly winds, bringing Snow and Freezing Temps to our normally temperate little Island. To make matters worse there is a storm moving in from the south west, wet air colliding with freezing winds resulting in Blizzard conditions across various areas of the country.
