Jealousy & Greed
Jealousy & Greed '.....Oh the jealousy, the greed is the unravelling, and it undoes all the good that could be."...sez Joni Mitchell circa 1969. How does one get past jealousy in open relationships and/or polyamorous ones? In my examination of my own motives and emotions surrounding sharing one's lover with someone else: I find that almost always I am feeling greedy, needy and less than worthy. Once I recognized that I should be pleased and happy if my lover is pleased and happy, it was less likely to be that greedy/needy feeling. What causes me distress now is if I am feeling left out and deceived. This is not in the mind-set of polyamory, nor open relationships. Honesty and inclusion is what I demand. So...if I love you...keep me informed to the degree to which I am comforted and BE HERE NOW...when you are with me. Join me in OUR realm, where our attachment and joy in one another can BE. |

SJ made a comment to me a few weeks ago about need breeding greed. Wish I could remember exactly what she said, but it really fit for me at the time. Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

I best get on to my shaggin before everything starts saggin I just want to give love a chance before the last dance and I have to turn my tag in Roger: OK... I know my issue is I ( ME ) will not stand being controlled...therefore I am wont to control anyone. Mutual JOINING and even monogamous PAIRING are not out of the question. FYI...I have had ONE lover in almost two years. So there! Now...about that shaggin....LOL

I'm not sure we ever "get past" jealousy and greed, whether it's a polyamorous or monogamous relationship. Hey, I just wrote in [post 1680995] about the ending of my first poly relationship. Does that mean poly's not possible? Or that relationships may come and go, each with their own lifespan?
