bubblegum on your shoe
bubblegum on your shoe annoying isn't it? how annoying is it to you? does it ruin your day or do you scrape it off as best you can and forget it? lately it seems that the stress level has gone through the roof for almost everyone i know. little things and big things happening to just about everyone and everyone seems to be reacting in a very supercharged way. now if you find out you have cancer and you get depressed, okay, got it.... but if find out your car needs a brake job and you lose your mind and start shouting at everyone in the office....wtf? so is the cosmic overload switch permanently on? has someone dropped a bad karma cloud on earth? or what? a story if i may. we have a transgender female in the shelter. MA has a new law that a transgender person must be treated as the gender in which they identify without special consideration or distinction. this means for the shelter that a transgender female would sleep in the female dorm even if she was presurgical (still had a penis). the women in the dorm said no way. the TGF said it's my legal right. now, i am worried that the other 10 women will beat the crap out of her, OR she may not be true TGF and one of the women. so i call for clarification to the funder and the AGO. they say, she goes in the dorm. in one hour of that placement, all 10 women are screaming at her and she is terrified. i offer her another space. she refuses. so now i have ten women who won't sleep in the dorm and one women sleeping in an 11 bed dorm. the world is crazy. and this TGF, the next day she complains that she is lonely. and calls the AGO. and GLAD. and three local legislators. i'm lonely too. i don't get to call the attorney general. just scrape the damn bubblegum off your shoe and go to sleep. jeesh. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Damn, WE, sometimes, no matter what you do...you just can't win. I don't envy your situation. I know it has to be stressful for you. Geesh.

The TGF doesn't seem to be sensitive to the feelings (fears) of the other women. Isn't it interesting that in our society the squeaky wheel gets the grease--that the majority doesn't seem to have a say anymore. Never ignore those who care for you you will have lost diamonds while you were collecting stones

Drama! It's all about the drama! Especially if the TGF is taking hormones. LOL scrape the gum off...lol good one.

I wonder if all your occupants would feel as vehemently about who was in the next warm bed in the middle of January? I tend to doubt it. Equal rights doesn't mean special treatment. It just means that everyone gets the same access to the same amount of the world's shit as everybody else. It doesn't mean special accomodation, special education, special diet, or special anything. I've always loved Massachusetts for its liberal social policies, but unfortunatly many of the recipients of those services have developed a sense of entitlement and that REALLY pisses me off. Almost makes me want to vote Republican just so I can watch all the programs and regulations helping all those unfortunate souls disappear with the stroke of a pen....almost. Course, then I remember that the fleas come with the dog.

Grrr! I hate chewing gum and bubblegum! I've lost two good suits in my time to the horrid, nasty, antisocial stuff. That's my rant over! I know someone who was recently "outed" as being transgender and I was alarmed by some of the responses by both men and women. Someone I know said he could only refer to her as "it," which seemed pretty harsh, but the classic was, "To think I've hugged and kissed her - and she's got a bigger dick than I have!" A lot of people still get confused between sex, gender and sexuality, I guess. warm xx

The transgender issues sure are starting to become tricky. We had a similar kerfuffle here, regarding a TGF who was in the county jail and wanted to be housed in the women's section. At least in jail, it isn't a common dorm situation. I'm guessing your TGF wanted to be with the women not only because she identifies that way, but also because she knew she'd be harassed even worse if housed with the men. Being lonely is sad, but at a certain level shouldn't someone just be grateful for having a roof over your head?

Wicked, I'm ALWAYS happy to see you highlighted. So MY stress level went down a slight notch. Thank you for that. As to your TGF and the AGO and GLAD, I've got to wonder just how much a little compassion would have covered (not to imply that YOU are not compassionate) on the part of both the TGF and the 10 other women. I HOPE that as the election season winds to a close in a month, we will all breath a sigh of relief and get on with our lives for a bit (aren't I pollyanna?); somehow I don't think that this is the change that Honni is predicting. Hugs to you, W.E. and keep in fighting the good fight as best you can. Chas < who is now a GRANDPA! (how did I ever get that old?)

I suspect your TGF may have had an agenda since you offered her an alternative space and she refused. It's a pity that, in the name of political correctness, she gets to call the shots.

I hear ya. I have a client that is going to tear out a wall next to the copier because the company they lease it from won't let them move the freakin' copier when there's a paper jam (something about voiding the warranty). Get this...the copier is ON WHEELS! So all they'd have to do when there's a jam is move it to the left a little bit, clear the jam and move it back and nobody would be the wiser. But nooooo....the wall must come down. Sigh.

Ya know, oui... I might just grow me some tits... to go along with my "Cuban". It's got to be better than bein' a plain, "old" white man--especially if it'll get me into the women's dorm. They couldn't despise me any more than they do now--could they? Solar...

WE, we're gonna have to build special dorms and public restrooms for these transgenders and other perverts. It'll create some good payin' construction jobs for carpenters, electricians, sheetmetal workers and plumbers! And we do need more good payin' jobs! And when we get all of these special accommodations built, the LGBTers will be happy and the rest of us can get on with our lives without having to deal with their drama! Everything will be wonderful and beautiful .... except for the idiots who dispose of their chewin' gum on public sidewalks and other surfaces designed to carry pedestrians!

Transgendered people are still so feared. Even if she had already had her surgery, she may identify as a gay woman, which blows people's minds to no end. So, the issue of sexual desire and any tendencies towards sexual predation are entirely separate from whatever is between her legs. Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale Her infinite variety. Other women cloy The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry Where most she satisfies. For vilest things Become themselves in her, that the holy priests Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra
