My water lines freeze every now and then here at the house and its annoying yes..My well is in the basement so I dip it out and heat it on the stove do my dishes etc...I love my house ols as it is but when the wind is the right way we know whats up..The pipes were wrapped in insulation and over time the mice got strings and insulation dropped away...Wish I could rewrap but hmmmm ..getting to the basement is a bugger..good luck

lol I meant old house..l also found out that a pellet stove is not an ideal heat source for an old house as well...I had to tear the back apart a couple times because I didn't know they were notorious for the auger jamming ,,lol oh blissfull unaware how I could have been....it is what it is .

Yes, I got that. Wish I could have a wood stove here, or even a faulty pellet stove. But In an apartment it's a no go. Heck, the smoke alarms go off when I turn on my oven to cook something. I have a feeling, and a bad one at that it's the buildings pipes that have frozen up. Nothing is wrapped, never was. Back in the day when the place had steam heat you didn't need to wrap the pipes. Now, as they've gone to forced hot air units in each apartment, the only thing heating the basement are two plug in wall mounted electric heaters, Yeah, they don't do the job at all.
