 It lifts my heart to witness someone's *liberation* from the chains of expectation. You are absolutely correct that most of us are programmed to assimilate someone else's values and sensibilities. Our natural subjugation and obedience to parents are powerful forces.....not always to our betterment.

Through the writings of Jack Kerouac (and others) I was exposed to the Buddhist concept of Satori....a revelation of self-awareness. I sense that you have achieved yours.
