TV Commercials......too many!

Why are commercial on at the time? When a commercial comes on I change the channel only to have a commercial on that channel so I'll try another channel and there is a commercial on that one and so on and so on. Do they do that on purpose so after a while there is no reason to change that channel knowing there is only going to be a commercial on the other one?
And what going on with that little who always wonders why her "Mom washes the dishes before she puts them in the dishwasher" and always asks "so what does the dishwasher do"? The dishwasher not only washes the dishes, it sanitizes them also. There is a heating element that heats the water to a higher<b> temperature </font></b>then what comes of the sink, usually over 350 degrees to destroy germs and bacteria that just washing will not do so would somebody PLEASE explain that to her so she would shut the hell up!
