I pay for my sub every month because I don't generate much interest ..I write tons of blogs but will absolutely not post naked pis of myself along with that..I have pics on my profile and if someone isn't able to see them oh well...

I'm an active standard, and it hasn't helped me. I occasionally muster enough points together to get a one month gold, but it really doesn't make much difference.

Been here for over 6 years, Just not fun with out gold, so many things you miss out on, so much going on around you that you are not allowed to know... the cost is very minimal, best dollar for entertainment you can spend... But like the lovely Lala says " yours and others mileage may vary" ….If you don't interreact with the community , it will not know you are here.. Make noise, create activity, get noticed, and walking around in the dark ( no Gold) is not the way to enjoy these sites.. Good luck.. Beyond having a well written profile and being a decent and interesting human being from a female perspective, your luck and whether buying gold is worth it also depends on how many members of interest are within a reasonable distance. Seems to me that convenience comes first unless a woman considers you to be a significantly better option than the average dime a dozen male.

Another thing, based on women’s comments posted in blogs and on the advice line, the fact that you’re married is as much a deal breaker/turn off for many if not most women as it would be if you were gay or bi.

I'm going to disagree with the Men can be upgraded to gold membership IF they put effort into their profiles to generate activity to them.. I've been active here (blogs mostly since the chat rooms are dead around my area) and have never been offered an activity gold membership - only discounts. One thing that determines whether paying for the gold is, in my case, how many women are in the area. There are few from mine which is fairly rural. Another thing to consider is the data (a.k.a. credit card) breaches. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

" You may disagree, but one of the male bloggers I have on my watch list and that I have interacted with was just upgraded to gold for 2 weeks due to his activity on this site. It DOES happen! Pagan  Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

Yup...that would be the one! It really does happen because just a few days ago he was gold ball-less.  Hmmm....that may not be the best way to describe the situation, even though it is accurate. lolI get infrequent notifications that I'm *this* close to earning free gold for 2 weeks....then they stop awarding me points for answering emails so they make it impossible for me to continue to earn the points that would generate the free upgrade. Then, after an as yet indeterminate amount of time, the offer is withdrawn and suddenly, TA DA! I start earning points again for any email I answer. Tricky bastards. Pagan Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

Another thing to consider is the data (a.k.a. credit card) breaches. years and years ago, (i believe these were original Affairlook, before the penthouse ownership), the site gave the both male and female members free gold membership. these members are called privileged members. If members' profile generated enough views for certain time period, the site gave it to the members. during the period of ownership change, and bankruptcy mess, these special features disappeared, along with silver membership. but i know for sure. currently, i know if the member's profile generated enough views, the site gives us free gold, for two weeks. and male members can earn it, too...i know a few who had these, since last year or so. now, i am not completely disagree with your opinion. indeed, earning free gold membership does not mean, they really have to put their total effort. i have seen so so profile with pretty good profile photos, and if the person gets on cam, which generates enough profile views, and they will automatically earned free gold membership seriously, i heard a few times. i think what matters is exposure that generates the quick profile views. anyway...just let you know...

On a side note if you are worried about a data breach you can use gift cards to pay then the site never had your personal information.
