The changes to messenger will kill this website.

Seriously, they have made a lot of poor choices but this just may be the worst. Why does it list people on messenger when 90% of the time these users aren't interested in chatting and don't respond. Now the user list is bloated with people who aren't even looking at their IMs and individuals that don't know to set their status from online to busy to prevent people from wasting their time messaging people, getting upset with the lack of responses.

I'm at fault for leaving people hanging all the time when I want to talk to people, just because there's no real alert system besides a noise the first message, so I lose people behind the cascade of messenger windows (seriously, it's almost 2018 why can't we have a tabbed messenger with notifications for the computer?) even when I'm trying to engage in conversations.

Artificially bloating the messenger portion of the site with accounts of people uninterested or inactive at the time individuals that don't respond to messages is just slowly going to dwindle the number of active users on messenger. Alt has slowly died out... must I see Affairlook die as well?

 And here we are years after this post originated, and no changes to the IM system. You're right, it really is bad...and in now 2020, they still haven't figured this out, nor have they figured out many other things with messaging or cams.

I gave up on the messaging for those reasons, yet somehow even after putting it on "busy", which apparently doesn't mean much, it switches back to available anyway at randoms times, and I miss many other IMs, hence people thinking l am just ignoring them and ruining the opportunity to talk or meet up....and don't even get me started on the fact that if you don't pay them, you can't do shit on here, so what's the point of joining? I have to pay extra for people to contact me? That's ridiculous....yet I still do it anyway, so what does that say about me? haha
