Major change in life

So my trip to the Bahamas didn't go quite as planned.
I didn't feel well the day of the cruise. Thinking I was getting the flu....I had a fever, I decided to rest and hopefully feel better.
That morning feeling a little weak and tired but better decided to stay in my cabin and get some more rest. Well the last thing I remember is getting up to the bathroom.
I woke up on the floor with a busted lip and unable to move anything but my head. I was on the floor for several hours until housekeeping arrived and called 911.
The ships ER stitched me up and sent me to the Doctors Hospital there in the Bahamas to rule out a stroke etc. After several x-ray, CT's and MRI's it was determined I had a compressed cervical cord injury.
So after emergency surgery I am currently learning to walk again. I'm still not able to write as yet.
It's been almost 3 weeks since my surgery and I'm in insurance hell and had to quit my job. I know it could have been worst.
I'm going to work hard to get back to my norm. I'm not going to give up. I have all sensation just limited use. But hopefully this is temporary.
Thanks for listening.
The Grey Fox as someone called me is down but not out

Keep moving forward. You have a spirit that cannot be broken, and that's awesome. I have no doubt but that you will be on your feet again and kicking adversity in the teeth in the process.

I know recovery can be challenging both physically, emotionally, and mentally. You're not alone. You have friends here and elsewhere who are rooting for you and who will help you in anyway that they can.

Prayers for your continued recovery. I know several people who've had that type of spine injury and all are living full lives.
