 It has turned into a popularity contest. They want to see how many likes or fans they can get. They say what they think everyone wants to hear just to them too!

 There are a couple of things that come into play, one new and one not so new.

The not so new? Age. Generally, the older people get, the smaller the pool of people who are going to be looking for a hookup. Also, since the "hook up pool" is relatively young, the older we get, fewer people might be interested in us.

The new? Tindr, etc. Hookups have moved to app based dating venues like Tindr, Grindr, etc.

You are so right. It has become a popularity contest. I honestly don't pay attention to how many likes ppl have. It would just be nice to meet a female I find attractive mentally as well as physically. More mentally than physically will work in their favor with me. Preferably a female who is not trying to sneak her man into the equation. Hints the word LESBIAN. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem hanging out casually with men but have no interest in them being in my bed or watching.

I will keep searching for a little longer.
