Best Foot Forward

I conduct interviews as part of my job and I start the interview with the understanding that the person is giving me their best first impression. I believe that you will never get anything better than the image that an interviewee is putting forward for an interview. If the impression is good, bad or fantastic....that is their best foot forward.

I have mentioned that I actually read profiles, even the guys profiles. I'm astounded by what people will put on their profile. Also, it's not just the men, women too! I'm most astounded by the close up genital shot as the profile pic from both men and women. That's your best asset?? Or the close up with the background full of clutter or...wait for it...right over a urinal!!!! Seriously, a pic of the dude's junk right over the urinal as his profile pic! Don't get me wrong, I am totally fine with the genital pic, just not as my first option and really not even an option, just forced on me as the main pic.

Furthermore, words have meaning. I read one today that stated "you must be disease or drama free." So, the woman thinking about dating him gets to choose to be drama free but she can bring the disease?

All I'm saying is, present your best you. Plain and simple go to the interview as the best possible version of you. Sometimes present the best foot forward takes a little thought and practice, and that's ok!
