The Shitbox

Went to the gym tonight even though my legs were a little sore....

Now I'm totally whipped.

Stuck to the treadmill tonight as I don't think my thighs could take another day on the elliptical... I'm surprised I made it through 40 minutes doing the treadmill on the fat burn setting.

It felt good though, when I was done.

It's a sense of accomplishment, in a way. Before you know it, it's in the cool down portion and you're thinking....

Damn! I did it!!

But, the true highlight to my evening happened on my way home from the gym.

I was nearing main street when a white jeep with the word 'Shitbox' plastered to the back window cut me off.

True story....

On the other side of the back window, it said 'If you hit my car while my baby is on board I will beat your ass until the cops show up'

Uh... yah.

I'd like to see that. The driver looked like a 90 lb crack head, in her left hand was a can of Monster and a lit cigarette.

I'm more concerned about this baby surviving its mother than I am concerned about it surviving a hit to the Shitbox.

are resilient, though, and I am proof. I came from a mother just like that.

A la la la la long
A la la la la long long li long long long
    Come on

A la la la la long long li long long long
Standing across the room I saw you smile
I said I want to talk to you for a little while
But before I make my move my emotions start running wild
My tongue gets tied and that's no lie
    I'm looking in your eyes
I'm looking in your big brown eyes (Ooh yeah)
(And I've got this to say to you)
Girl I want to make you sweat
Sweat 'til you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out I'm gonna push it some more

Last night I walked in Lake Michigan for an hour and a half on the sandbars... Totally amazing. The water was a little cold, but it was only between knee and waist depth, so manageable. I went to a section of the beach I hadn't been to in at least 2 years.... It looked so different. It felt good to be back.

My Wife, God LUV Her & Rest Her Sole, had a similar issue ! She finally went too an Orthopedist and discovered that one leg was 3/4 of an inch shorter than the other !!!
She would not buy ortho shoes too makeup the difference & resolved Herself too just deal with it !!!
When I was 25 I dislocated my left knee... I think my soreness is a result of over using my right leg to compensate for my left knee. It probably didn't help me to walk in the water on the sandbars for an hour and a half last night, exploring the shoreline of Sturgeon Bay. There is so much that is being unearthed by the high water levels... I'm completely fascinated by it.

My only real goal is to just be healthier and more active. Funny story, my right hip is killing me this morning! LOL What an odd place to have soreness. My legs in general feel pretty good today.

I can relate to having a mother from hell. In my case , she was a raging alcoholic that made my formative years a living nightmare. It still affects me in form or another but I refuse to let it be the reason why I make bad choices in life. I accept the fact that any choice I make is based on my own mind. Good or bad, I won’t be that person that says oh I had a bad childhood so it’s my parents fault.

Congrats on working through the discomfort. That’s a huge thing! I really miss jogging and keep telling myself I’m going to jump back on that horse! There’s nothing more satisfying than feeling your body hitting that peak of wanting to stop and you just grit your teeth and do it anyways. The phrase No Pain No Gain is very true!!
I was lucky enough to have grandparents who took me in and raised me after a time... But I learned some very important things from my parents. I learned how not to be as a parent. I learned what I did not want my kids around and to be exposed to. I learned how important it was to have a stable, consistent home. There was a really long period of time that I hated her, especially. But, I did manage to forgive her. We were never, ever close, but, I've let go of those feelings of hate and just kind of feel sad for her wasted life. She died of an over dose in 2013.

Shitbox owner....wow. Just what the world needs more of right now. Someone violent. Way to influence her kid! Sounds like she also needs driving lessons.
Driving lessons indeed! She also hit the brakes hard at the red light as she had floored it to get in front of me. I hate merge lanes for that reason right there. There wasn't a soul behind me, she could have just let me pass and merge smoothly, Shitbox had to be in front.

Why would you call your vehicle the Shitbox? Eejit! I wonder if there's a bag of rotten food in it......

It surprises me not that you rose to life's challenges.

ps - your new name could be McScrapper!
Some people are just low class.... I have long since retired my scrapping ways.

nursing homes are full of people who were not motivated to love themselves and respect their bodies . no one wants in those places , so move it some , feed it quality , water it well and rest it regularly .
I hope to never find myself in a position to be in a nursing home.

90 lb crackhead????? Be still my penis!!!!!!! I think the hardest part of exercise is sticking with it. I try to walk the block, but it's just too easy to blow it off.
I have to make it part of my routine.... Then I feel like something isn't right if I miss it. It's an anxiety thing... I need things to feel the same.
