The Strangest Thing Happened The Other Night: An 80SROCKR Escapade

Well not really the strangest thing, that's just to attract your attention.

I was at my favorite place: The All Star Bar and Grille (Shout out to the owners Riz and Eric) last Saturday.
There were several bands playing and as the night wore on I wandered outside to the patio. My friend Riz was out there at a table, talking to some people and he waved me over and I joined them. I found myself sitting next to a woman who was there with her friend, who's boyfriend was the drummer in a band playing that night. Introductions were made and I found myself in a conversation with Stacy, the usual what do you do, etc. She writes articles for finance websites. We all know what I do.
The conversation was flowing between 5 or 6 of us and I felt a connection with Stacy but did not want to be an aggressive pussy hound and kept my conversation intellectual. However when Riz got up and left the table Stacy and I had a minute or so alone.

That's when the strangest thing happened.

If you've read my blog you may have read my humorous FUQs:

Stacey asked me with all sincerity Question #7:
You are awesome. Why are you still single?
My answer: Uhhh. I don't know...because I'm so awesome?

She was not completely satisfied with that answer but yet not turned off. The conversation changed for a minute but she asked again. So I turned the question back to her. Her answer?
A very honest "I'm a bitch and hard to live with." I should have used that....
My reply: I love a challenge.

By now a spark was created. We started leaning in toward each other, touching hands, shoulders, legs. The usual attraction signals.

Now comes the buzzkill! Came with girlfriend, must leave with girlfriend. I managed to give Stacy my cell number but not get hers.
I realize she had beer goggles on but I hope they weren't that foggy. If she calls me, awesome. If she doesn't... well I'm still awesome, she's still awesome. Both of us single a little longer.

Why am I still single?

Mike
