Fake Plastic Trees Warning: This is me climbing on my soapbox to vent about something that happened recently. I am not looking for sympathy. I am well aware that you can find sympathy between shit and syphilis in the dictionary. ************** Let's say you have been talking to someone for seven months. You have exchanged photos and gotten to know each other quite well. You even consider the person to be a friend. You have no reason in the world to doubt who they are. You trust them. And then you find the exact photo that they passed off as their own on a porn site. Your first thought... Benefit of the doubt. Perhaps someone stole their pictures and posted them without permission. In which case, the person really should know. So you dig deeper. You do a photo search on Google for each and every photo this person ever gave you and they all pop up on not just one, but multiple<b> websites. </font></b>Porn sites, services all over the world, social media, etc. You name it, the pics are there. You look at the date that the ad or website was published and notice that some of those are three to four years old. That's when you feel like a that just found out Santa doesn't really exist and your world comes crashing down just a little bit. You feel betrayed, angry, and stupid for falling for the elaborate scheme this person has put together. You considered this person a friend and were 100% honest and up front with them. Your pics are genuine and posted on your profile for all to see. So you approach the subject with this person, off site as not to stir up too much drama. You broach the subject and ask for the truth. You deserve that much, right? And then they get defensive and make accusations. They lie repeatedly even after they were presented with screen shots of the truth. They make you out to be the villain and they play the innocent victim. They stir the pot and out comes the drama llama to play. Does it do any good to gripe and complain and cause drama? Yes and no. Sometimes it is nice to vent even when you know that nothing is going to change. If you're venting for the sole purpose of creating drama, get a life and move on. Save the drama for your mama. They continue to blast it everywhere and people blindly believe their side of the story even though there is another side that was silenced and unable to voice itself. Is it fair? No. Is this all just a part of life? Yes. Does it hurt? Hell yes. Is it the end of the world? Hell no! So you mourn the loss of a friendship. After a couple of days, you start to feel better and you move on. Acquaintances come and go your entire life. True friends stick around, even if you do not see eye to eye. And then you have a revelation that hits you like a ton of bricks... A true friendship is not built upon a foundation of lies and deceit. You never had a friend to lose in the first place. In the end, this person is no big loss. I don't associate with liars, fakes, and shit-stirrers anyway. I am better off without that nonsense in my life. I can totally get used to playing the villain. In fact, I kind of like it. ♡ |
