 I too have witnessed both sides. I think the 2 can co-exist with out sex if the split was amicable and was .....what it was....just sex between 2 friends. I think the 2 cant exist....when one person hides there true feeling from the other....thus causing animosity and uneasiness.

 I had sex with a friend one time after a night out with a bunch of people at a bar. The two of us left together and ended up having amazing sex. I think of it to this day. We only had sex the one night but remained platonic friends for a long time after. I think it would be very hard if two friends had sex, but the one friend wanted more from the relationship than the other.
