And The Answer About The MiA Comments Is . . . I asked about the comments that went missing being restored [post 3784386] and just got the answer from the SiteSupport blog: redrockrascal, Thanks for posting. We posed the same question to development, unfortunately, no, those comments will not be able to be restored. Root cause of the issue was with content approval. As you know all content submitted by members on the site is reviewed, in this case the blog comment creates a comment ID, on review of that comment posted, text was being blanked out however the comment ID remained which is why members see pending. There is a record of the comment however that record is blank. We've anticipated this concern from the community and tried to be proactive with the development team however due to the circumstance the content linked to those comment IDs are simply blank and cannot be restored. Our apologies. Leo This is just a guess on my part but . . I think the meaning of "Root cause of the issue was with content approval" is that the "censoring" program took a bit of a crap in it's diapers. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. I also mailed the Customer service Department about the invisible comments reappearing and i just got a blah reply back. Thanks for the update about these invisible comments.  The site is proof that things can be deleted forever on the Internet!

I received a reply to my comment on Site Support too.....funny when they reply to comments posted there they usually approve the comment for viewing....they didn't...yet. Nor have they approved yours yet. Whilst I appreciate that Site Support do and say what they are told to....I wouldn't trust any of the powers that be as far as I could throw them....I'm 68...I can't even lift an adult let alone throw one anywhere. I'm delighted to have things more or less back to normal- but I'm still mad. At least you finally got an apparently honest answer, so better find a red marker and note this on your calendar. First and foremost, you've been terrific about staying on top of this. Thank you. Second: Yeah, bummer. Wasted effort, lost communication... but we will persevere, and will build up a new library of comments on new content. At least, those of us who haven't yet reached the point of disgust... Well shocker there..im not surprised by this response, its a shame that we will never get to see the comments or respond to those who took the time to respond to our blogs. But at least we can comment once again and perhaps people will think about what they post in their comments so this doesn't happen again..but I'm not holding my breath.
