Perhaps, it should have been included in my previous poll... anyway... Janelle Kroll propels this great (original) Joni Mitchell song "Down to You" to a different high... applying an erotic twist to this classic... I do like both versions... This is a wonderful homage to Joni... of "they paved paradise... and put up a parking lot" - "Yellow Taxi" fame (and many others)... Janelle brings a passion to this<b> butterfly... </font></b>the metamorphosis is complete for me... listening to both of them... different times... and, before the original... there could not be this version... for aren't we all different versions of ourselves to different people... I think that we are... I think that we see what we want to see (or are conditioned to see...)... Our perception is our reality... to others we may seem different... Please give it a read... maybe, compare both of them... Excellent hugs V thanks for your comments... The lyrics were special with this one... I like the changes as well... and, the beat of the song is different... Janelle puts her personal experience in the revised lyrics... referring to Chicago, East coast and LA... Subtle differences alter my listening pleasure... and, I want to see feel a sense of optimism... and ownership... whereas, in the original... it seems sad to me... hopeless... plus in the official video... she looks awesome... although, she is dressed in 3 different outfits... she could have chosen blue... just sayin'... She wears two different shades of black... with one of the black outfits she had liptsick... with the other she has none... with the third outfit, she wears a grey sweater and lipstick as well... while she is exasperated with what is happening...there is hope as she starts to smile from the middle to the end of the song... kinda reminds me of the video "The XX" made for "Islands"... very subtle changes occur throughout the song... just sayin'... have a great Wednesday!
