Here we are. Another candle gets added to the country's Birthday Cake.

So how many of you remember the Bicentennial? Now it's 30 years later. Wow. I have memories of tall ships in NY. Lots of excitement and Red, white and Blue everywhere.

So is this a big picnic day for you? Is there a parade in town? Ours stopped years ago. Fireworks. Oh how I love a food Fireworks show. Been to the DC fireworks a few times. Saw the display at the Golden gate bridge in 1989. There are a few towns around here that do a good job.

I have childhood memories of running around the back yard with sparklers. The last two years I was in FL. Fireworks are legal there. we would put on our own display as would the neighbors. It lasted for hours between everyone. Not as impressive as a formal show but just as good for the variety and fun.

So got any good memories? Any family traditions?

Rain in NJ as well. Multiple thunder storms passing through. Hung out at home. Comforted the dog who doesn't like thunder or fireworks for that matter.
