Merry Christmas - Going Standard

MERRY
CHRISTMAS

Wishing all my Affairlook friends a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.

For those of you who have followed my saga over the years, here is an update.

It has been a year and a half since I asked for a Divorce from my wife of, now, 13 years.

She was ready to divorce as well.

Everything has been civil all along and continues to be.

I never expected to have another wedding anniversary as well as another Christmas. In fact all the Winter gear, clothes, snow shovels, etc as well as the Christmas tree, decorations, etc were in storage.

We have gone the Mediator route. It took a while to find a suitable Mediator; one that could provide the services we required.

We are in the process of getting the house ready for sale. That is a big project as anyone knows who has sold a house.

We have a draft divorce agreement. Everything but the financial information.

It seems I have had to become the project manager in this Divorce. For whatever the reason, maybe fear, my wife has been paralyzed, in a sense, as far as doing anything to move things along. Neither of us are the best self motivators when it comes to certain things. The silver lining, given all the frustration I have had in doing everything myself (with a little help from my friends), is that I am becoming more self motivated. I am doing what I have to do so I can get to the goal of being free.

I am anxious to get to the next phase.

My goal has always been to do this right so that in the end, after all the emotions have died down and the stress and frustration are gone, I can hold my head high knowing I did the best I could.

Thank you to all my friends who have been with me all along; supporting me and helping me. I never would have made it without you. Seriously. The civility of the divorce and my new level of confidence and hope for the future is in large part due to the blogging community.

I maintain connections with a few very special friends from this site.

For whatever reason my addiction (you all know what I mean) to this site seems to be over. Mostly because I have had to concentrate on moving on in my life and getting to the next phase.

With that being said I will be a standard member beginning in Jan. This will still allow me to blog every now and again.

Be well all.
See ya somewhen (as my friend used to say).
Cheers,
Sir Neal

Good luck - it's a crap time of year to go through all that stuff - it's hard at the best of times.

I hope you get yourself sorted and at least you can remain civil.

As Merry Christmas as possible and hopefully 2008 will bring the resolution you hope for.

I am hoping by early summer to be free and on my own.
Yes, it makes the holidays a little more stressful. But we made it through.
Cheers,
SR
