+)&% Thankgiving Day

For , this is a day to be thankful for family , friends and so much more! The roots are so many years ago, nestled in the customs of our new location and of course traditions of "home". Amongst other things, it is the start of the year end holidays. A bit of frivolity and reverence for what we have. I understand that folks from other places do not celebrate as we do, perhaps a different date? Do you have any favorite foods for the day? Are you the cook, helper or annoying troll? I am a helper today. A great way to get nibbles and fun . My favorite is of course the turkey! Also please remember or service members serving away from home.

Back in the day, I always found myself working for American multinationals and would get THIS day off. I went all out — turkey 🦃 and the works — I was the cook. In the mornings we'd tune into the parade from New York, then the dog show from Philly — I love dogs. Things began to sizzle and the aromas permeated every corner and crevice of the house. Then the football 🏈 games would begin and so would the feast. Later in the evening, I'd flip in our traditional movie — 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' — and we'd laugh and eat... and drink the night away. Memories were always cemented with a new tale of silliness from someone in my family.

It felt like a holiday, and MUCH more so than the Canadian version. It was a vibe I can't explain; it felt right. Was it because our neighbour to the south devoted all they had, to make it happen?

These days I work from home, the kids are adults, and managing their lives, and I have no appetite for — even the smallest ten-pound bird.

The house is quiet. I miss those days. 😶❗🌹
