List 15 Things You Do To Lift Your Spirits Most of us get depressed once in a while. This is only natural. I was talking with a friend early this morning and he told me to do something to lift my spirits. So, I got to thinking about what he said. What are some of the things I can do (or have done) to lift my spirits? I challenged myself to make a list of 15. I am asking you to list 15 things you do (or can do) to lift YOUR spirits. Your list might have some of the same things as mine, might be totally different. But, we might be able to help ourselves and others by making, reading and sharing our lists. mokey, Love your list! There are many good things on it. Not sure if you know it, but I got the idea for this blog post from you. Happiness is a choice and I have chosen to be happy rather than sad. This morning I said I would take inventory at the end of the day to see what I did that was on my list to help lift my spirits. I had a good day today! I had fun. I smiled, I got about six hours of sleep (good for me). I talked to a good friend on the phone (used a lifeline, lol). I listened to some great music (the very sexy Luther Vandross). I met a friend for dinner. I got a pedicure. I did some deep breathing exercises. I did some isometrics. I helped a friend. I read and responded to blogs and responses to my blog. All in all it was a great day! I kept busy and spent time outside in the sunshine (need that - my skin is so pale I probably glow in the dark). Lol. And.... I laughed.

whatsamattau, Thank you for sharing your list. I love number 9: "Imagine I am on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise". Love that show and have often thought what being in outer space and travelling like that would feel like.

1 Keep busy 2 think positive 3 talk to a friend (online) 4 take meds as directed 5 eat correct diet 6 smile 7 listen 8 watch 9 practice 10 be patient 11 be calm 12 be happy with myself 13 be comfortable with who I am 14 be strong 15 be at peace 16 leave the past behind 17 live for the now 18 have fun 19 ignore hate 20 ignore ignoreance 21 ignore laziness 22 be ever aware of my surroundings 23 know the warning signs of lows 24 know the warning signd of highs 25 know when to keep quiet 26 know when to speek up 27 know when to relax 28 meditate to be more self aware 29 accept what I cannot change 30 change what I am able to correct 31 be happy with who I am!!!!! Shall I go on??? Many more that I can list!

1 Make sure I get rest 2 Eat right 3 Quit procrastinating 4 Go to my son's practice 5 Go to my AA mtg 6 Gardening 7 Listen to good music 8 Cook a good dinner 9 Bar B Que 10 Watch a commedy 11 Help others 12 Take someone out to dinner or breakfast 13 Do not Isolate, reach out to others 14 Drink lots of fluids... Keeps you alert 15 No drugs or alcohol Hope these help

1. smile 2. laugh a little 3. go out shopping 4. sing a song 5. have lots of sex! 6. go for a walk 7. listen to some music that makes you happy 8. read a good hot romantic story 9. spend time with family and friends 10. do some baking 11. go out to dinner with a group Just make sure you feel happy inside. One thing I know is that having you for a friend is definitely something that lifts my spirits. hugs and kisses!

List of things I can do to lift MY spirits: 1. Smile 2. Get a good night's sleep 3. Watch a funny movie or video (I like musicals) and I always crack up when watching Abbott & Costello's "Who's On First" routine. 4. Laugh 5. Spend time with family 6. Spend time with friends 7. Wear my favorite color (dark purple) 8. Take time to just BREATHE when stressed or nervous 9. Read inspirational or spiritual quotations 10. Make a word cloud (one of my new favorite things to do) 11. Do something creative 12. Get outside in the sunshine 13. Listen to music 14. Do something nice for myself (pedicure, manicure, massage, etc.) 15. Do something nice for someone else 16. Make an effort to do something I have been putting off (I always feel so much better when done) 17. Give myself a break, permission to do what I want 18. Use a lifeline (call a friend for lunch, dinner, etc.) 19. Meeditate 20. Give myself permission to cry and then get over it. Wow, I listed 20. It wasn't difficult once I started. So, today I am going to work my list and take inventory at the end of the day and see how I did. Must be working already because I am SMILING !!! [image]
