I didn't know it was loaded.
I didn't know it was loaded. Another soul obliterated. Śigh. A tender moment became a deadly one this week after an Arizona man shot his girlfriend during a hug. AZFamily.com reported an 18-year-old Phoenix man was hugging his 24-year-old girlfriend, Amanda Mosley, on Tuesday morning when he pulled a handgun out of his waistband because it was interfering with their embrace. The gun went off, shooting the woman, who was later pronounced dead in hospital. The unidentified man told police the gun had fired by accident, according to AZFamily.com but the attorney's office will most likely investigate. Amanda Mosley's sister, Shawna, told the news outlet she wasn't positive the shooting was accidental, but said she didn't want to make accusations without further evidence. "I'm not going to say that I'm 100 percent certain on that but that's all the evidence we have so we don't really want to speculate too much or make people think that we're trying to go after someone," Shawna told AZFamily.com Sgt. Tommy Thompson, a spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department, also told ABC15 the shooting appears to have been accidental. It is legal in Arizona for an 18-year-old to possess a firearm; however, it can't be concealed unless the owner is older than 21. Last year, a woman in Detroit died after she hugged an off-duty police officer from behind and his gun fired, shooting her in the chest, according to the Associated Press. The woman was celebrating during a party at the officer's house, the day before her twenty-fifth birthday.
