The 'Well' Ran Dry

The "well of creativity' sometimes run dry!

Sometimes it only takes a day to refill, sometimes months. I haven't been able to find the inspiration to create a new poem recently. Usually when that happens I will find one of my unfinished poems and work on completing it. But not even that is working for me these days.

I haven't posted a new poem in a while.

I think the Christmas holidays took a lot from me, but I also think the stuff I learned recently is causing a battle within me since I preferred the way I wrote before compared to what I was taught.

I guess I'll just have to wait until the battle within has ran its course and see what the victor dictates; new way, old way, a merging of styles?

I guess I'll see.

In the end, my well eventually refills!

Hell, I haven't written a new poem in years. I just "fix up" some of my old poems. I'm always changing them.
I used to write at least one poem a day when I was working. Mostly funny ones, but still, new poems.
Now that I have the time... nada.

You'll develop your own style. A little of this, a little of that... but it'll happen.

Funny you should say that! I have written most of my poems at work and then when I'm home I'll edit and fix them up.

When I worked in New York I was always writing on the job. When I lost my job in New York and moved to Ohio, I couldn't write shit.

When I started working again that's when I was able to write again.

forget poetry.. even a blogpost is sometimes hard to write for me!! LOL

Generally if i just let it go.. suddenly one fine day i wake up and can't write fast enough.. But i do have to totally let it go, not even think about it and forcing it..

Wannabe/Sexpot - which one do you want me to be?

The other man's (or Wannabe's) grass is always greener, the sun shines brighter on the other side!

meaning, you are luckier than I am, because, if I don't write it down somewhere fast, I'll forget what I wanted to write when I'm ready. I'll remember what I wanted to write, but not in any way that makes sense!

True story: In college I would do my paper writing down all the thoughts and ideas I had about the topic I was working on, get all the facts and data to support my argument. Nothing made sense! It was all a total jumble.

Then when I'm done, I would rearrange all the paragraphs in an order that made sense, were properly linked, and would flow the right way. I never did bad papers.
