It is the 911 generation or instant information generation i do not have to remember anything because i can google everything, If i need help i call 911 or i call 211 and if i cannot survive i go down to the govt office they give me a credit card to survive. When people during the depression or dust bowl era had to think to survive and be on the edge then they were resourceful. A whole generation is basically useless if the power went out in this country.

I do see this as well. Many many people are very tech. I had shown one of my children how to use and encyclopedia a couple of years ago. For the item that they were researching wasn't on the net yet. It was a steam locomotive, and how it worked. When he sent in his report, the teacher didn't accept it for it wasn't found on the net. She had informed him that he didn't look hard enough for the information, and said to him, everything in on the internet, you just have to know where to look.
He was very upset, and came home to me and told me what had happened. I went to school. And had the pleasure of watching the teacher try to find the information that my son had found. She couldn't. And then I informed her, that things have to be placed on the internet, a lot of these things were first in books.

HA HA nice well i know i learn every day so hopefully she looked at it as a positive learning expierence but i am sure she did not.
My kids are way to much on smartphone and we make her take a break from it because she needs to expierence the world not just see it on a screen.
there is a balance they have to understand technology but also what is going on around them and history to learn.
