guns again

The irrational think they can control guns by gun safes, gun locks, training and turning off violent tv.

The problem is human nature. People are emotional and irrational at times. If you get depressed you may decide kill yourself and then try within minutes of the impulse.

Suicide is a permanent solution a temporary problem. 5% of the suicide attempts not using a gun result in death. Suicide attempts with a gun work kill about 85% of the time. Guns are very effective at killing.

If you have a gun in the house you are taking a risk. Like a cobra or a rattlesnake the guns bite is deadly. me worse than death would be permanent disability for the rest of your life. All for the joy of having the power of death at ready command.

How many people are fit command easy death with a gun? Even trained police and soldiers succumb depression and commit gun suicides. Why are you so smart and balanced that you can escape? Ego is not a substitute for sense.

We have recognize our limitations and not tempt fate. Irrational stupidity is rampant. Why risk your life or those lives you love? Fewer guns is better. No guns is best.

Having a gun is risking death more than not having a gun.

AMEN - if too many people get their hands on guns for bad deeds,

thats because there are too many guns!

and pro-gun people need to see that the solution to too many guns

is NOT more guns.

and it isnt just assault rifles,

although in public hands they are a threat to society,

in the inner- city neighborhood where i used to work,

just 10 miles from my home,

handgun violence is an at-least weekly occurrence.

and its often after "an argument".

just as with assult-rifle attacks,

the families, friends and neighbors of handgun violence victims

always ask "when will this end?".

i wish i could tell them.

who can?

"well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

I delete pro gun comments. Write them in your own blog while you are alive....

I do not call myself a liberal, though I am one. I try to use common sense, something the GOP used to do before Trump.

while i totally agree with the sentiment,

be careful you dont emulate another trump trait, censorship.

the only thing that can battle the pro-gunners

is an avalanche

of anti-gunners comments like yours

(and, id like to think, mine that was deleted in the process).

I want to affirm life and pro gun views do not do that. Advocate for guns elsewhere.

    Quoting redmustang91:

im not sure if this comment refers to me

or who knows how many others you may have deleted,

but heres my two cents on a better way to fight them than pretending

we can make them "go away" by ignoring them;

remember, i agree with you as far as their offensiveness -

those who lobby for multi-guns and even more guns,

limits on background checks,

and assault rifles for anyone who wants one views DO undermine society,

but as long as they exist,

we have the opportunity WE MUST TAKE to vociferously oppose them

just hiding them (as in deleting their comments), as hideous are they are,

denies us the opportunity to expose them as the farces they are.

gun-support comments are sometimes

pathetic, hideous, and place profit over lives,

but we must be able to SEE them to CONFRONT them,

lest we forget them and they get their way unopposed.

remember this? along a similar line,

the tobacco industry, which was years ago reeling from

anti-smoking TV messages

(mandated under the then TV "equal time" laws)

THEMSELVES got tobacco ads taken off the air.

oh, they played victim like a shakespeare play,

but in doing so, they denied the major avenue for dissenting voices of truth.

sure hasnt hurt them, has it?

censorship may appear to hurt the oppressor, but in fact,

it hurts the oppressed even more.

were on the same side, but

dont hide UNDER a rock, PICK IT UP and FIGHT with it.

Smoking in California is way off, down to 18% of adults. The battle is now vaping, which is a portal to hook teens on nicotine.

Many are aware of the gun lobby, and my deletes of pro gun views are not going to change anything. I am not hiding. I am clear on my views. I realize others feel differently, but the stats do not lie. Pro gun propaganda belongs elsewhere.
