I'm an enabler, but all is forgiven...mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa Holy Shit. The Roman Catholic Church and another blogger are BOTH asking that I acknowledge my sins. Go figure... I debated on whether to post this. Sought advice from a friend who has also been caught up in all this shit. The advice to me was to do what my heart told me to do. So....here goes. I'm new here. Been here two months and love that I'm free to tell of my life, my family, and the things that drive me to crazy spots sometimes, to wonderful spots at others. I've observed the two armies in this argument facing off across no-man's land. Several of us have been caught in the middle as EACH "side" (I have no other way to describe it...don't want to be pejorative) have slung their shit. We're not fence sitters, we're collateral damage. Know what? The only one's bathed in the excrement thrown are those of us in the middle. As I've watched (and read) all of this unfold, I've heard from, and been pleaded to, by both sides. "Believe me, I have the truth". Both sides claim it. God is on OUR side...each side has said. I'm asked to discern the truth when I don't even know what the fuck the issue was? I don't think that's possible. So, I judge people based upon how they treat me. Members of both "sides" have been nice to me. Members of both "sides" have been ass holes to me. Guess THAT defines me as being in the middle of this nonsense. Well, so now the nonsense is over. Oops...not over...I'm sure it's just a lull. Olive branches are extended. The problem is the "TO" address is written in invisible ink. It will be someone else's name tomorrow. After this post, I'll probably have my nice guy card revoked (again). But I read something yesterday afternoon that has been sticking in my craw (as they say down south), and I MUST address it. Understand, politically I'm to the left of Micheal Moore. A liberal to me is a neo-con. I read and listen to the "right" (in the political, not moral sense) so I can understand their talking points, and know how to respond. Know your enemy as Sun Tzu says in "the art of war". I read the blog of someone here occasionally who is certainly to the right of me politically. In a recent post, he talked of presidents and pro athletes. Liars, convicted liars, charged liars, and "truth" tellers. I thought, "cool..don't agree with him on ANYTHING political, but this might be good". I was wrong. No, not wrong...enlightened. You see, I found out that I have gone astray. I found out that all I have to do is say Mea Culpa and I'll be loved. I'm told that I feel persecuted because I was wrong and I was an enabler. I was informed that I wasn't the "offender", but I must recognize that I was an enabler. What is REALLY cool is that I'm now told that he has open arms. He likes me. He REALLY likes me. All he's asking is that I let him. Well, I have 3 words for you...and they're not "love you too". I think they fall along the lines of "go fuck yourself". How DARE you define those of us who chose to not get involved (oops...I'll speak for myself) like that. You Don't KNOW me. To say that a person was either on your side, on the bad guy's side or an enabler is absolute fucking bullshit. To automatically assume that since some of us weren't lined up in the trenches throwing shit makes us guilty of something is either stupidity or arrogance. Or perhaps both. I don't want you to like me...because I don't like you. I don't like your politics (although I can live with a cordial debate) and I sure as HELL don't like your condescending attitude. You remind me of Kilgore in Apocalypse Now. You know, the one who loves the smell of napalm in the morning. You're so wrapped up in your perceived victory, that you can't smell the stench of your own decaying morality and vindictiveness. I just want to blog. Don't want your love, and for sure don't want your morality play. I didn't take sides then, but you're beginning to make me think I should take sides now. Not in that battle, but rather in the battle of common decency. I think if ANYONE owes a Mea Culpa, it is you, and anyone else who takes pride and glory and glee in what has occurred. I think it's all very sad...regardless of the "side" you're on. This may be my last post. The stench is becoming hard to bear. Peace is STILL my sister. And I STILL go forward (or at least try). Well, Bob, I have no idea what war you're waging, and that's a good thing for me. I just write my little silly post early each morning and only visit those blogs who've visited me. /color] I know from past involvements on this site that one can get into very unfriendly neighborhoods here. If you remember, weeks ago, I mentioned in one of my comments on one of your posts, that if you stayed on this site long enough, someone would pick a fight with you. It's inevitable, especially when you go to as many blogs as you do and leave so many comments. I'm very fond of you, Bob, and I hope you won't let the bad guys sweep you off this site. xxxxdavid

I'm guessing I'm lucky enough that I've either been un-visited by these folks, or I'm oblivious if I have. Drama, meanness and childlike behavior happens enough in our daily lives. The greatest, and I mean GREATEST part of being here is..... DELETE button!!! Words, drama, meanness can be simply deleted! I don't know for a fact, but I'd be willing to take a poll of your watchers... We love you for who you are, not which political or social stance you take... Personally, I couldn't care less if you fuck the neighbors goat every morning before you head off to work... (ha, it's ok to laugh here)What I care about is how empowering your words are and how you love your family. May you walk through this battle, perhaps shit covered, but may you walk through it with a kick to your steps and the finger thrown in both directions! Be who you are... we love who you are!

Come and go as you wish, but make it about what you wish, not about what a self appointed guard of the blogs suggests. I have no tales of being fooled or taken in by anyone. I got my feelings & ego hurt a time or two, but I accept full responsibility for it. Ultimately, this is a forum for words. I either read and interact or skip and ignore. Really, this whole victim stuff has gotten out of control. I have yet to see ANYONE claim damages besides their ego and time invested. Perhaps staying or leaving is a sort of social Darwinism. Survival of the Fittest. People who wail and gnash their teeth about being victimized to the point they must leave the site? I just shake my head... I have left several times, but of my own accord, when I needed a break from the dynamics. And if you're a leftie, I need you around, so I selfishly am going to plead for you to stay. Reasonable voices are always welcome. They may not be as loud without the thumping of their chests and back patting, but they also aren't bruised and battered from a battle of their own choosing.

Hi Bob, as you can clearly see from the comments, you will be hunted down and have your ass kicked if you try to leave. Not really, but you would be sorely missed. What some people fail to realize is that there three sides to this mess. The vast majority of bloggers are on the side of " leave me the fuck alone to blog as i wish". There are a few who are pissed off that they didn't get the victory parade they thought they so richly deserved. Instead they are having rotten fruit thrown at the and they just don't get it. Thanks for the post. You've expressed the sentiments of the silent majority.

Not taking sides doesn't seem to be productive in this place. Do I think it's all bs ...YES! I wanna blog damnit ...not step over piles of doggy doo doo. I'm gonna say this, I have said it before... and will prolley say it again before this is finally settled to rest. I don't care who's who in Blogville.  There I said it...what is upsetting to me is those who have not taken sides are the same ones who have to watch where they step.I'm not a fence sitter... to me being a fence sitter is someone who listens to both sides equally and can be swayed given the conversation, topic or person they are speaking too. I would call myself an unwilling participant in a blog war that is not mine to fight. I could care less about all of it. I've heard words thrown about carelessly...Integrity, Respect, Honesty, Righteous.... Yanno what? People who live in glass houses should never thrown stones. Please do NOT make this your lost post. I love listening to stories about your granbabies... and that to me is a much more enriching blog post than any I have read recently on here. Share my journey...I write when my soul cries.

You're too smart, too stubborn and too much in love with me to go anywhere, ya big lug! Now I have no idea what's going on in the dregs of Blogland, and I guess in this instance, ignorance truly is bliss. Don't know, don't care. Good points all ... as I have repeatedly said - patterns will do in those who profess to have it all... I found myself mentioned positively - after a rather "condescending" response to a comment made - and frankly - there are those who never read me before - who are now "seeing what I have to offer" ... unless or until I question their political skew, their purporting of "facts" when the truth is out there.... I don't care. Those who I enjoyed before - I will do so again. I choose what I write about, what I comment to - and what I think about those who were either quick to rush to a side, those who didn't - and those who are, now, claiming innocence in it all. No one is clean - some are in shit up to their ears - others only to ankles - but everyone was tarnished by the bullshit - it's more a matter of how much and do you understand and acknowledge your role in it. Again - I have only a handful of times discussed a specific person... I have often discussed and derided patterns perpetrated by groups of people ... and I will continue to do so. If I misstep - I will apologize and try to do better. But no one's opinion about me - especially since only TWO people here on this site know me is going to sway how I write, what I write on, or make a judgment about what I feel is questionable behaviour change.
