Another unnecessary tragedy, my heart goes out to all the families who lost loved ones.
It's unlike anything we have ever experienced here. We pray for those affected and that it is never repeated.

Like many of the others I didn't hear of this. I am so sadden not just for the country but for those shot, and their families. But in Canada? Of all the places I never would of thought there because of the peacefulness nature of the people. All I hear about any more on the news is Covid-19 and I really don't watch the news much right now.
Agree. It is the last place we ever would have anticipated something like this happening. And those left to grieve are further hampered by the restrictions in place while dealing with COVID-19.

Someone mentioned having never fired a gun and being unable to understand such violence.

I grew up on a farm. Hunting and pest control are part of country life, so I have fired a weapon. I also do not understand such violence. When a teenager shot random people at a school in Arkansas in the 1990's, my thought was that while he had training to be effective in shooting the rifle, that he had not seen the results of releasing that power on a living creature previously.

One article thought it started as he was trying to find a love interest that was no longer interested in him. I wonder if the random stops and "executions" were an effort to sidetrack law enforcement while he escaped.

It appears that this was the result of mental health issues that may not have been identified.

A sad situation for all.

When I red the articles, I prayed that no one we knew was invloved and then I felt horrible for those that were maimed forever. May they find some solace and some emotional peace one day. Totally blown away I am

Thank you for stopping by and sharing your perspective.
As the investigation continues, more of the layers are being peeled back. Regardless of what is revealed, the lives of all those in the communities impacted have been changed forever.

I have touched based with friends that are in the surrounding areas and thus far, no one has been impacted directly. Regardless, the aftermath will change those communities and the rest of our country forever.

I grieve for them. All of my family lives there except me.
I am sure some were distant relatives.
Such a senseless act in such a peaceful place.

It really is unimaginable. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope none of your family were directly touched by this tragedy.

Due to the current restrictions imposed because of COVID-19, the community is being denied the opportunity to come together and grieve. Last night, a ‘virtual vigil’ was broadcast on national television. It was poignant and supportive, featuring local musicians. It ended with a lone piper, overlooking the sea, playing Amazing Grace. Nova Scotia Strong...at its finest 🇨🇦

Nova Scotia continues to be pushed with more tragedy. The residents must be wondering if it will ever end.
