Take food up a notch, smoothies, root beer floats, sweet potato guacamole Think about taking food up a notch. Be creative. I love root beer soda but it's too sweet, too many calories, so I dilute it with seltzer water. It's great and still gives the flavor. I've also taken root beer soda, filled the glass half way, then the rest with milk. It tasted great, like a root beer float when the ice cream is melted. Very smooth and rich. It may not sound good but it's delicious. I'm going to try tomorrow night with my berry smoothies. I'm going to fill part of the glass with seltzer water to give my smoothies some fizz. I have no idea how this is going to come out. I love guacamole. A healthy and tasty dip or condiment for chicken sandwiches. Guacamole is raw and ripe avocado, mixed with diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, seasonings. What about also mixing in some cooked sweet potatoes? It has a soft consistency like guacamole. Again, just thought of it tonight. I have no idea how it will work. Caveat - Don't try mixing in peanut butter in a meat loaf. It doesn't work out well. Plus it sticks to the roof of your mouth. That was my worse idea ever! 35 years ago I tried it. One of the few dishes I threw in the garbage. The got into it and ran away from home. |
