FROM BATMAN TO BADMAN?      As you probably know - and if you didn’t know, shame on you! - Adam West, the actor who played Batman in the television series in the 1960s, died recently. Batman was my favourite superhero. Strictly speaking, Batman wasn’t a superhero as he had no superpowers, but Batman had a very useful utility belt, a Batcave, a Batphone, a Bat Shield, a Batmobile and Robin as a sidekick to help him rid crime from the streets of Gotham City. Without Batman, the Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman and Poison Ivy would have ruled the world! I loved Batman then and I love Batman now; I love the darkness and campness of Batman. As a I had a Batmobile car, by far the coolest toy car in my collection. I was most scared of the Riddler, but I now think Catwoman was probably his biggest threat to Batman! Do or did you like Batman? What Batman villain was the biggest threat to Batman? If not Batman, who is or was your favourite superhero? It took ages for Adam West to be given a star on the Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. Though he didn’t feature in too many critically acclaimed films, he was Batman! When playing Batman, Adam West also enjoyed the attention of many groupies. He claimed that Batman and Robin, played by Burt Ward, were "sexual vampires" while on set and he admitted that "Because of the limitations of the costume, you gotta have quickies." Adam West also said: "Burt and I were like in a candy store. It was the Swinging Sixties with free love and women threw themselves at us. I remember one night with eight different women … it was eight at one time." When havind sex, Batman and Robin like to switch! I want to be Batman, which may not be so such a far-fetched dream as the real Gotham is a suburb of Nottingham where I live. I’ve been cleaning the streets of Nottingham’s Gotham for ten years now but I’ve never had a sniff of an orgy! No one seems to care! Perhaps I should now stop wearing a cape with satin pants over my lycra outfit!      |

Loved Batman. Biggest threat Catwomen. Obviously she could distract him from his sworn duty by being extremely seductive. How many people remember there were multiple actresses that portrayed Catwomen? I remember Julie Newmar as being the more perrrrrrfect one. Also there was Erma (?) Kitt. And I think there may have been a third one too. Yeah I know I need to get a life!!!!

Do or did you like Batman? I watched it some but it was kind of corny to me. BAM! What Batman villain was the biggest threat to Batman? Probably Catwoman - she could eat Batman. If not Batman, who is or was your favourite superhero? Clint Eastwood When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

1. Aye, back in the day, kapow!! Top quality cheesyness! And I quite enjoy the current crop of films though for some reason they don't capture the imagination in quite the same way as the original show. 2. The Joker always seemed the most sinister to me. 3. Skippy the bush kangaroo!! Gimme Catwoman though, through the ages, oh yes!!

I don't know who was the biggest threat but I liked The Penguin, The Riddler and Catwoman the best of the bunch. If not Batman, who is or was your favourite superhero? I was never that big on superheros so I can't say as I had any favorites. Vive La Difference

ah, the sloped shoulders, the little tummy. a superhero with puns and no musculature........how could you not love this guy? the best villain in the comics was the riddler. on the screen was the joker. You cannot conceive the many without the one.

Ah, another blog post that reminds me that my misspent youth wasn't misspent in the way of other boys. (When it came to comic books, Calvin and Hobbes were my superheros.) The TV series aired before I was born. By the time I saw it, I thought it was too cheesy. However I did come to like Adam West in his later years. .. He was great on Family Guy and also great at poking fun at his role as Batman. So who is egghead? No one is mentioning him! .. Must not have been much of a villain.  I loved Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr Freeze. And just because of the plants, I would have to say that Poison Ivy is another favorite. I did like Batman as a character because he was just a man. .. I also liked Superman, but the theme song from the movie still gets stuck in my head all the time.

I wasn't too fond of comic book heroes but I did rather like Superman. I'm still smarting from taking Dangermouse to see the Lego Batman movie....so I'm definitely off him just now.  ~~Anais Nin~~

Yes, I watched the original Batman TV series as a kid and like yourself, I had a Dinky toy Batmobile. I just wish I kept it in good condition instead of hearing CRASH! BANG! WALLOP! as I pushed it off the wall or threw it off the step outside. As for those cartoons here; I didn't realise Batman and Robin were that close!
