WHO ATE ALL THE PIES?   'Who ate all the pies?' is a common chant amongst football fans when they see a less-than-fit footballer, especially if playing for the opposition team. Above is Wayne Shaw who was the reserve goalkeeper for the non-league football team, Sutton United. The goalkeeper, nicknamed the Roly Poly Goalie, was recently involved in a betting scam because he ate a pie while sitting on the substitutes’ bench when his football team were playing Arsenal in the cup. It turned out that one bookmaker, in cahoots with Wayne Shaw, was offering odds on the Roly Poly Goalie to eat a pie at half-time during this cup game. I love pie, almost all pie. Steak and ale pie, served in lots of gravy, is my favourite savoury pie, though I also like shepherd’s pie (made with lamb mince) and cottage pie (made with beef mince). I like all steak pies except steak and kidney pie; smelly kidneys always ruin a meal! My least favourite savoury pie is a pork pie; pork pies are far too stodgy and too porky! My favourite sweet pies are cherry pie and apple pie, both served with lashings of custard. My least favourite sweet pie is key lime pie - what’s the point of it?! But it goes without saying that a freshly made cream pie cannot be beaten, not even by a steak pie! Do you like eating pie? What are your most and least favourite pies? Have you eaten a cream pie? This last week was British Pie Week during which I ate one delicious steak and stilton pie and made a few but still uneaten cream pies!       |

Do you like eating pie?  What are your most and least favourite pies? I'm a very big fan of strawberry rhubarb pie and apple crisp. I think I would have to agree with you on the key lime pie as the least favorite of the pies I've had but I'm open to exploration of other pies and wouldn't turn down the key lime pie if it was the only pie available.  Have you eaten a cream pie? Are you talking chocolate or banana cream pie?  Vive La Difference

I USED to like pies.....I am on a diet.  My favourite is a French Apple tart and I hate Steak and Kidney pie. Never eaten a cream pie.  ~~Anais Nin~~

I like pot pies and chocolate mouse pies. .. But really I'm more of a cake person. I hope that the bookkeeper paid Wayne more than Sutton United!

Do you like eating pie? I do and making them from scratch too! Including the crust, too many people resort to store bought crust. What are your most and least favourite pies? Gosh... that's just too difficult, fruit crumb any fruit, cherries, apples, blueberry... um coconut cream and coconut custard, lemon meringue, chocolate cream or peanut butter cream pie! Have you eaten a cream pie? You are not talking about pastry are you Hugh? You forgot to mention your other favourite pies Hugh -- porkie pies! Of course you can't eat porkie pies but you can swallow them and it seems I always fall for yours Hugh! Do you like eating pie? Yes various types. What are your most and least favourite pies? Many fruit types and meat types - interpret that as you may.  Have you eaten a cream pie? Is this a trick question?  When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. ah........pie pies are my favorite things. savory, sweet. all kinds. my mama was a terrible cook, but she could bake...and her pie crust was to die for. she did pies like no one before or after her. her mince meat savory was killer. her sour cherry would pucker your mouth for a week, her rhubarb was omg delicious...but her classic apple..........killed. my favorite was her lemon because only she and I ate it and so it would last for more than a day...... and her crust.........I would give a tooth to taste her crust again. You cannot conceive the many without the one.
