JINGLE BALLS     I’m getting excited - no, make that very excited about Xmas. I’m yet to send my Xmas cards but I have done about half my shopping for Xmas presents. It’s the only time of the when I enjoy watching and listening to trash. Last night while watching a trashy Xmas film, my girlfriend asked me what my favourite Xmas songs are. After a little thought, I replied that my favourite Xmas songs are Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody, Wham!’s Last Christmas and Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas. Also, particularly when drunk, I like singing Jingle Bells loud and naked! My least favourite Xmas songs are the dirge of Silent Night, the ubiquitous and often wrong White Christmas, and Band Aid’s cringeworthy Do They Know It’s Christmas?. Talking of Jingle Bells, I’ve just read Donald Trump has launched his own Christmas tree decoration. A miniature red baseball cap with 24-carat gold edging can be purchased for $99 - see photo below. Do you get excited for Xmas? Do you have any favourite Xmas songs? What would you do if someone gave you a Donald Trump Christmas tree decoration? I'd love to hand a Donald Trump baseball cap off my Xmas tree; it would help keep my Jingle Balls warm! In his 1987 book, The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump wrote: "I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole." Unbeknown to most people, the pipe-smoking former Labour Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, always enjoyed looking up people’s cloaks, frocks and skirts. And that’s real fake news!     |

I like "Silent Night" and "Away In A Manger"........don't forget "Gramma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" I would refuse anything associated with Trump! ......or throw it away!

As I do my artwork, I enjoy having Christmas songs streaming from the tube place...some are good, some are not so good....I'm starting to really not like that Alvin Chipmunk song tho lol But the oldies are good. We are a bit tight with money this year as both my kids bought houses and that's ok. We've always been an artsy fartsy group so we are just making gifts to exchange between us....and we may have game night instead of the usual christmas festivities...it's all good, whether you have money or not. Do you get excited for Xmas? I have a quirk about it. I don't use Xmas. I always say Christmas. And I love it more every year. Do you have any favourite Xmas songs? Yes, I still enjoy Christmas. Giving and receiving presents from my siblings is always a treat. Two Christmas songs I like are; 'Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl. Also '2000 Miles' by The Pretenders.

OH Hugh! You know Donald's Christmas and ornament will be YUGE! I hope you like it; there is one on the way to you now Hugh via post! Oh sorry, I've just spoilt the surprise! Christmas songs are getting stuck in my head, especially Wham!’s Last Christmas. There are about ten songs on a loop that play over and over at the store, including several cover versions of the same songs. Leigh Nash's Hard Candy Christmas is also stuck in my head. OH and now you've done it, I'm playing Last Christmas as I write this! Whatcha getting me for Christmas Hugh, what...huh... what... Is it too late to be good? I hope you have a very Happy Christmas!
