SHAMELESSLY PIMPING BAD TASTE  I love bad taste … provided it’s not my taste offended! But as I haven’t got much of a sense of taste, bad taste is as good as good taste to me! On Sunday, 5 June the twentieth virtual symposium, diligently and patiently organised by the cult leader - sorry, I mean symposium convenor, humorlife, takes place. For those who don’t take part in these virtual symposiums, it’s a great way for bloggers to come together and post on a selected theme. The vote for the next symposium’s topic is taking place – see The Virtual Symposium Returns Lets Pick A Topic. I’m pimping everyone, even if you don’t take part in the monthly virtual symposiums, to vote for bad taste. The reason for this is that I have a blog post already compiled that I have so far dared not post in case it offends people’s tastes. It’s nothing illegal, but it’s widely seen as off-limits particularly on this site. I did once post a blog that skirted around this issue and the comments received suggested to me I shouldn’t push it further. I know the mantra in blogland is to blog what you want and to blog for yourself, but I don’t quite go along with this mantra. Yes, I do blog what I like and for myself but I like to have a conversation with others and therefore I try and blog on things that may be of interest to others. I do like comments on my blog posts, even if I’m a bit tardy in replying to them; if I didn’t get any comments I’d stop blogging. I’m a social animal. How easily offended are you? Disregarding anything that’s illegal and not consenting, what topics do you consider to be bad taste on this site? Will you vote for bad taste for the next virtual symposium? I’m not easily offended. I often take insults as complements. I often find things said in bad taste quite funny! The only bad taste topics for me are those that peddle hatred against individuals or certain groups and those that abuse their power over others. I’m a liberal - anything goes provided it’s consenting and no one gets hurt. Anywat I hope you'll vote for bad taste. Please, please and pleasey-please vote for bad taste!  |

How easily offended are you? I think I'm a bit like you. I can take some criticism and not lose my cool. I can even take a fair amount of being cussed and still maintain my equilibrium. It isn't impossible to offend me, it's just not that easy. Disregarding anything that’s illegal and not consenting, what topics do you consider to be bad taste on this site? Welllllll....not an awful lot. Like [blog NaughtyInSO said, the whole site is something of a festival of bad taste. Anything Trump leaves a bad taste, though. Will you vote for bad taste for the next virtual symposium? We have already done so. We plan on conducting a virtual tour of our home as a classic example of bad- or no- taste. However having said that, there are some things that really piss me off Disregarding anything that’s illegal and not consenting, what topics do you consider to be bad taste on this site? I think that political posts are in bad taste. We have so many countries represented that posting about another countries politics when I have no real knowledge on how it works would not be appropriate Will you vote for bad taste for the next virtual symposium?I don't participate, so it would not be appropriate to vote

Lately I have been finding myself becoming more easily offended. .. But I stop myself. If I put out what I really thought about some things I would offend a lot of people. .. So I do so carefully. To encourage dialog. To not shut out whose who hold different views, it is sometimes necessary to listen. Well, I went ahead and voted for bad taste. .. I might have more to write about addictions, but I tire of rehashing the subject. ... This always comes up so fast!

How easily offended are you? I'm a near-absolutist on the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment. There are few topics save for blind hate which I find offensive. See above -- blind hate, whether misogyny, religious/sexuality/race bashing, or anything of that sort. I'm not talking about good-natured poking... I'm talking about diatribe without the redeeming factor of amusement value. An attack on a fellow (and I use that term inclusively) blogger would get up my nose. How easily offended are you? not offended so much as hurt. I am easily hurt by things others say and I don't get over it very well. Disregarding anything that’s illegal and not consenting, what topics do you consider to be bad taste on this site? I have seen a few things that I suppose were rather offensive. A man once sent photos in a private album to me without permission. His handle was like2fckU2hard or something like it. Well the videos were of him doing just that to many different women. Some of the photos showed something red on his, well, his you know what. I don't think it was raspberry jam. Now either he had actually done what his handle said or it was intercourse during menstruation (not that that is a bad thing and well... um, well it happens sometimes, often by accident oh this may have been TMI and in bad taste, forget I mentioned it) but to photograph it and then send the pix to strangers, well I think that was in very bad taste to say the least. I would never want to be fckd so hard as to draw blood myself. Will you vote for bad taste for the next virtual symposium? Only if you say I must, as I don't feel like much of a joiner these days.

Reading blogs that moan, bitch, bash, gripe and attack is a massive turn-off for me. I know people have to give vent but blogland is not always the best place to do it.
