ARE YOU DATING WEIRDOS?  People on online dating sites frequently complain about the number of weirdos on the dating scene. It seems narcissists, losers, commitment-phobes, psychopaths, fantasists, opportunists, cheaters, liars and sociopaths all seem to gravitate towards online dating. It’s always other people who are weird and never us! Evolutionary psychologists, who believe everything is genetically determined to reproduce the human species, have argued that the large number of weirdos on dating sites is because our parents no longer arrange our marriages. Parents often disregarded or downplayed personality as a basis for arranging relationships. Since our relationships (at least in the West) are no longer arranged, we now have to find our own partners and we often seek someone who we get on with. Personality is now important. People with weird personalities, who would have been paired off by their parents in the past, now flock to online dating sites. The market for online dating sites is a crowded market and almost every niche seems to be catered for! Want to date a punk, go to DatingPunks or PunkMatch. Want a vampire, subscribe to LoveBitten or VampirePassions. Want to get stoned while dating, go to 420Singles. Into Star Trek, make your way to TrekPassions. Into moustaches, go to StachePassions. Into penal dating, join Meet-An-Inmate or WomenBehindBars. Into diapers or nappies, subscribe to Diapermates, but who will change who?! Still not satisfied! Looking for good looking people, join BeautifulPeople or DarwinDating, whose strapline is "online dating minus ugly people". Looking for ugly people, go to TheUglyBugBall. Looking for guaranteed sex tonight, subscribe to IWouldBangYou or even this site whatever it's called! Other niche online dating sites include Amish-Online-Dating, AnglerDating, BlindDatingService, ClownDating, CountrysideLove, DateAGolfer, dateaginger, FurryMate, GlutenfreeSingles, LittlePeopleMeet, LoveHorse, MulletPassions, OCDDatingSite, SeaCaptain, SinglesWithFoodAllergies, STDmatch, TallPeople, TaxidermyPassions, UniformDating and ZombiePassions. Two quite strange online dating sties, in my opinion, are LoveNMarry and MeetToMarry. What pressure for a first date! The CanDoBetter site looks hilarious! But the strangest dating site has to be GayThugDating. I thought all gays are thugs and all thugs are gay! What’s the weirdest date you’ve ever had? How weird are members of this site? I’m very disappointed that my niche isn’t covered by online dating. I’ve now launched FindASheep online dating site. It’s going to be baa-g, though I’m a little worried that FarmersOnly may have cornered this market! The weirdest date I’ve been on was a successful one if judged by the fact that sex happened on the first date. But to get there I had to endure a conversation, just before penetration, a conversation on the maker of my bedroom furniture. I said that it was all Stag furniture, which only led to a more in-depth conversation about wardrobe makers! Members on this site aren’t weird or at least no weirder than people one normally bumps into life outside this site.   |

The weirdest first date ever??? I had arranged to meet a site member....he was picking me up at home....he was very early and I was in the bath. Opened the door wrapped in a blue bath towel and pointed him to the kitchen to make coffee while I got dressed!!! Sure broke the ice.  Are you sure the weirdos aren't all here???  ~~Anais Nin~~

What’s the weirdest date you’ve ever had? A female Senior service member invited me to a sort of picnic. We went to an abandoned bunker on our base in Iraq and enjoyed a meal and Gatorade (no alcohol in a combat zone). We chatted , laughed and enjoyed a bit of time away from our responsibilities. Unique in that we were both armed with automatic weapons . No sex, but what an enjoyable time. We are great friends to this day. How weird are members of this site? There are weird people here?

A while ago I met a woman who had a very popular blog (no names, but she isn't on the site anymore). She wanted to meet me at the clock tower in the centre of town, but she was late... I went to the nearest boozer overlooking the clock tower and sent her a text telling her where I was. When she turned up she refused my offer of a drink and insisted that we go back to her place...  So that we could continue the "date" in her front room, in the presence of her teenage son! Who had access to her ARF account... Too much for me. I thought "I'll finish my cup of coffee, make my excuses and leave". She started updating her blog, reading out comments to her son... and then went on an incredible racist rant. At which point I walked out the door.

What’s the weirdest date you’ve ever had? A friend and his girlfriend fixed me up without asking me if I wanted to be fixed up. I had worked all day and got home late. They were all waiting for me, and pissed off at me "being late", even though I didn't know I had a date. The girl was very good looking, four inches taller than me without her five inch platform shoes, and hated me on sight. I spent approximately three minutes in her company before concluding that she was a bitch on stilts. We did go out, briefly. She began griping about...well, pretty much everything and I said fuck this, fuck you, by the way fuck all of you, too, and went home to sleep. How weird are members of this site? I think they are a fair representation of people we meet in our everyday lives, the exception being that most of them openly admit they want to get fucked.
