Five to ten minutes. But sometimes I like to take my time and go for 15-20. .. I can do it in 2-3 if it's urgent! .. However.... I have come across some recent research that says that many things improve if you do it less. .. (So I have been trying this, although I'm not always successful. lol) .. There is some truth to it. .. It can increase you cognitive abilities with as little as two or three days off.  But sometimes you just gotta give into the urge. ---------  Now when it comes to saving time over a lifetime I have a better strategy. I focus on the stop lights I sit at the longest and then take different routes. ... I figured that I spend about two solid days per year at one light.  ... Avoiding that has saved me lots of time!
