A CLEVER PORN STAR?  Nicholas Goddard, aged 61, was a respected professor of chemical engineering at the University of Manchester. After his divorce ten years ago, the professor also took up an acting career in the porn industry. As Old Nick, he has appeared in many porn films, all widely available on porn websites and all made while working at the university. Above and below are a few photos of Professor Goddard’s tutorials! Recently one of his students discovered that his professor was also a porn actor after recognising him in one porn film. The student wrote: "The day I found out, I was doing the afternoon ritual of mine, when I suddenly came across a strange video. It seemed like an ordinary clip, except the guy appeared to resemble Nick, similar build and hair. The first disturbing sign of confirmation was the oddly recognisable voice. Then I saw the video's title, 'Busty Lolly Gets Fucked By Old Nick Outdoors'. But the realisation came when I noticed all his distinct mannerisms and gestures. It was Nick. For the first few minutes, I couldn't believe my eyes, the very idea was disturbing." In defence, Professor Goddard argued: "There is such hypocrisy with people watching porn then complaining about those who act in it. Why would students and staff be happy to watch it, but unhappy when they see who stars in them? Especially as I know that, on evenings and weekends, 75 per cent of web traffic on the university’s server is accessing porn…. What I do in my private life is my business not the university’s." On hearing the news, the University immediately suspended the professor. It was very probable that he would have been dismissed from his post for bringing the university into disrepute if he hadn't resigned from his academic post first. Also the professor has retired from being a porn star because "it’s too much for me now" and "I don’t get paid much". Should the professor have been dismissed from his academic post? Would you be happy if you or your were taught by a porn star academic? What porn name would you adopt if you were a porn star? I’m slightly torn on this case. I can fully see that what he did in his private life had no bearing whatsoever on his performance at work. I can accept that the professor may have slightly unfairly become an object of ridicule if he continued in his academic post, but that’s no sacking or resigning issue. I think he should have remained in his academic post. But what strikes me most in this case is how stupid the professor was. Surely he must have realised he was very likely to be exposed as a porn actor by his colleagues and students. If he didn't care about being unmasked, then he shouldn't have resigned. This clever academic perhaps wasn’t so clever after all! Now inspired by Professor 'Old Nick' Goddard, I’m now about to launch my career as a porn star using the alias of Dick Dangle. I think aa smart adult would have known some of the so called "private life" isn't so private any more thanks to advanced technology. Deciding to be an elder porn star has no bearing on his ability for chemical engineering BUT he should have thought it thru carefully. There are some UoM students who aren't getting their chemistry right. And to think none of them watch porn- what a laugh. Someone should dismiss the tattletale student. Should the professor have been dismissed from his academic post? No. The only way to stop such hypocrisy is to stop such hypocrisy. Should the professor have been dismissed from his academic post? As long as his conduct was proper, I would say no to dismissal Would you be happy if you or your children were taught by a porn star academic? It would make no difference since I am assuming he is being a [professional in his teaching position What porn name would you adopt if you were a porn star? Have to give that some though

It's just another double-standard being applied. -- No, I don't think he should have been dismissed, and his resigning is his personal decision. (It's probably better than being fired, if it was going to come down to that.) It didn't seem like he was worried about being found out. ... I don't run in academic circles, but I do know that they value "appearances" highly. I'd let a casting director/producer/manager chose my porn name. I'm sure there's a science behind that.  ... I'd have to be able to reject anything that I thought sounded stupid or silly.

I never thought Bill Clinton should have been impeached because of a blow job either... It seems a bit sleazy that the news carries a photo of a topless woman (Page 6) but a single professor who does porn as a side job is an issue.

He also is a photographer and he has said on his website he lusts after girl graduates and claims to have photo-graphed several in the nude. What it doesn't say is that he carries his camera to life drawing classes and photographs the girls to appear on the class's website. He tried to photograph my daughter but the professor overseeing the class told her she didn't have to consent. She said she is fine with sketches appearing on the internet, but not photographs. Nude sketches of her appeared on her husband's website and I have also recognized her from the drawings on the class's facebook page. What porn name would you adopt if you were a porn star?
