LOVE THE BIRD
LOVE THE BIRD Above is Love the Bird, a table lamp that can double up as a sex toy! The perched bird acts as a switch to the light when inserted; and when removed, it can be used as a vibrator. The lamp lights up yellow when the bird is inserted and red when removed! Love the Bird was created by the Lebanese designer, Marc Dibeh, who wanted to make a sex toy hidden in an everyday object to be sold in countries where sex toys are considered taboo (such as in several Middle Eastern countries). I think I may buy a stash of Love the Birds to give out as presents to my female friends. My bedside lamp, shown immediate below, is an Art Deco-style touch lamp. There’s no switch, which is always good when you need to turn the light on and off while half asleep. One tap of the base gives a dim light, two taps more light and three taps a bright light, and a fourth tap switches the light off. Easy-peasy! Would you have a Love the Bird lamp on your bedside table? What’s your favourite lamp in your home? Also below is a range of lamps, including an Alexander McQueen-designed lampshade that can double up as a hat! I do like Art Deco-style lamps. But my favourite lamp is the last lamp shown below, but my girlfriend never stays still long enough when I’m reading in bed! |

I would have no problem having a Love the Bird lamp! My favorite lamp is just an ordinary table lamp beside my laptop computer! (nothing fancy)

My immediate thought was "Why?" But then I read the bit about sex toys being taboo in certain cultures, and now I want to see more of Marc Dibeh's designs. Worth another blog post, d'ya think? Great fun... thank you for sharing this! While not a fan of sex toys myself, I love the marketing idea behind Love The Bird. And I really like the lamps with the cats! They look just like Guapo! Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

I LOVE THE BIRD! These are very cool lamps! The next to last photo is gorgeous- I adore a long necked beauty. I'm not sure why I find a long neck so attractive, but there it is just the same. Would you have a Love the Bird lamp on your bedside table? I'd really like to have one! What’s your favourite lamp in your home? I don't guess I have one. Thirty years ago, while I was single, I had one of those wingback sofas and no reading lamp. I suppose an ex wife had got custody of all the lamps or something- I don't remember. I stuck a pallet board between the cushion and the wing of the sofa and clamped a clamp lamp on it. It made a very serviceable reading lamp- sixty watts! My mother visited one day and was appalled at the device. She went out and bought me a floor lamp and kicked up such a fuss that I capitulated and dismantled the contraption just to shut her up. I'm still rather proud of the thing, and I would do it again if the need arose. I'd have to get another sofa though- the one I have now doesn't have a wingback. Being only a single vibrator, Love the Bird is clearly no match for your dual vibrator!

I've already answered these questions, but my answers have vanished for good and I can't be bothered to answer them again.
