VAMPIRE ATTACK, THE SITE STRIKES BACK!  Having recently complained to the site about images posted on blogs being automatically replaced with crosses, I’ve just received a very informative reply from the site’s Customer Service Department. The site has asked me to relay its reply to other bloggers as the shite - sorry, I mean site - is still very shy in communicating to its members. The site can only just muster enough courage to announce its contests. It seems we’ve been a little harsh on the site; the site has installed the crosses to protect us from a vampire attack especially in the run-up to Halloween. After the site took advice from the wikiHow webpage on how to kill a vampire, it decided that the cross was the most effective way of warding off vampires. The site decided against using garlic to ward off vampires. It believed the site already had enough of a bad smell about it. It also calculated that garlic-smelling members would struggle to get laid on the very same day they joined the site. Likewise, the site ruled against issuing members with a copy of the holy bible to deter vampires. It felt that its degenerate, dissolute and unwashed membership has never followed biblical strictures! And, finally, the site ruled against issuing all members with a wooden stake for them to hammer a stake in a vampire’s heart. It thought that the vast majority of its members - the bots - couldn’t be programmed to wield a hammer! The site reasoned that the cross was the most effective way to keep the vampires at bay. The site assured me that the cross will scare off both sanguinarian vampires who feed off blood and psychic vampires who feed off energy. I want to salute the site for its forethought in exercising its duty of care towards its members. The site has clearly learnt a lesson after the hacking episode. The site is being proactive and not reactive; the site clearly cares with its crosses. We should be grateful not complainsome - I’ve just made that word up! However, two American researchers have found that two-thirds of the worldwide vampire community are female - see Williams D J & Prior E E (2015) 'Do we Always Practice What we Preach? Real Vampires’ Fears of Coming out of the Coffin to Social Workers and Helping Professionals' Critical Social Work 16(1). On reading this journal article, I got back to the site’s Customer Service Department to suggest that its anti-vampire policy is driving away the very people that it most wants to attract as members, women. The Customer Service Department replied suggesting I check my browser! Some things just don’t change! Do you believe in vampires? Can you see the two images posted without right-clicking them? Do you mind if I don't ask a third question? I’ve noticed that images on some blog posts appear without the cross, but most images are replaced with a cross. I’m not sure why this is so. I’d be interested to know whether my images show up automatically or whether crosses show. I hope that the crosses are showing as then I can sleep easy knowing I’m safe from an imminent vampire attack! I most worry about an attack from a psychic vampire; I already know enough people who suck the life out of me!  |

The first two were easy and I felt like I was on a roll. Clearly, or I guess maybe not so clearly, there is no explanation for why some photos are visible and some are not. It's REALLY frustrating! Fortunately we have the new notifications bar that's pissing everyone off to concentrate on and by the time we actually get to a photo we're ready to give up and just click random shit all over the page.
