YOU CAN'T MAKE ME BLUSH   Writing in 1872, Charles Darwin thought blushing was "the most peculiar and most human of all expressions." Blushing is the involuntary reddening of the face, usually triggered by emotions such as embarrassment, anxiety, anger or stress. It can also be triggered by drinking alcohol, eating hot or spicy food and vigorous exercising. Research, carried out by researchers at the University of Glasgow, found that blushing is a sign of a woman’s fertility. Professor Benedict Jones, the lead researcher, argued that blushing can make women look more attractive. Perhaps that’s why blush makeup is so popular! Do you blush easily and regularly? When was the last time you blushed? And what did you blush about? I’ve never knowingly blushed even when embarrassed, anxious, angry, stressed, drunk, fed with a hot curry and strenuously exercised. Do you blush easily? Yes. All the time. In college, we could tell how much we'd had to drink by looking at how red my face was. The last time I blushed? Probably today. Just walking around the mall gets me pink the cheeks.
