EL DIABLO'S NAKED GRAND TOUR
EL DIABLO'S NAKED GRAND TOUR El Diablo (aka Didi Senft): an American streaker: The Grand Tour was a tour of Europe taken by aristocratic and wealthy young men. Popular destinations were Athens, Berlin, Constantinople (now Istanbul), Florence, Geneva, Heidelberg, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Saint Petersburg, Venice and Vienna. On the Grand Tour, one New York Times journalist wrote: “Three hundred years ago, wealthy young Englishmen began taking a post-Oxbridge trek through France and Italy in search of art, culture and the roots of Western civilization. With nearly unlimited funds, aristocratic connections and months (or years) to roam, they commissioned paintings, perfected their language skills and mingled with the upper crust of the Continent.” The Grand Tour tradition lasted from the mid-seventeenth century to the mid-nineteenth century when rail travel allowed poorer (but not poor) people to travel around Europe. Poor people would have to wait until after the 1970s when cheap package holidays became available. Students now have their gap year! I quite like doing a grand tour of cities when I go on holiday. One good tour I did was Budapest, Prague and Vienna by train. I’m thinking of planning a grand tour of Spain to take in the cities of Grenada, Seville and Valencia. A grand tour of Brazil, taking in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Manaus in the Amazon, is also appealing. A sporting grand tour is also tempting. Touring America and Canada to take in lots of NHL ice hockey games would be brilliant. But the best sporting grand tour would be to France when the Tour de France is taking place in July. After consulting with El Diablo, the Tour’s most eccentric spectator, and an American streaker, the itinerary of my grand tour of France has been planned - see photos below. If you were to go on a grand tour of three places, where would you go? Is it just me, or are photos of the Tour de France interesting and even captivating? This year’s Tour de France has just ended. There’s now a massive void in my life at the moment! For those interested, Team Sky’s Chris Froome won the Tour. However, he was regularly verbally abused, was spat at twice and had urine thrown in his face, plus he faced constant but baseless allegations of doping throughout the tour by the French media. His teammate Richie Porte was also punched by a spectator. Methinks that a few French fans are bad losers or that they don’t like the English! For other Tour de France blog posts, see BICYCLE RACE, LE TOUR DE FARCE, THE PELOTON AND A WHEELSUCKER, A DOMESTIC GODDESS AND A DOMESTIQUE, WATCH ME NAKED ON THE TOUR, BACK FROM LYON, LE MAILLOT JAUNE, SOME COLOMBIAN, AN INCIDENT AT THE SWIMMING POOL, MEN CAN MULTITASK, THE CURSE OF YELLOW and A COCK WAS SHOWING AND THE ALPS ARE COMING. You may be pleased to know that this will be my last post on the Tour de France until next July! Many thanks for reading up to here and allowing me to indulge my passion. Also, I promise to make my posts shorter! some French countryside: French Alps: Mont Saint-Michel: a French village: Le Louvre: Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile: Eiffel Tower: Avenue des Champs-Élysées: |

I did have a "gap" year. I can't remember how many gaps I plunged my wick into, but it was quite a few and I cherished each and every one of them. Still do. If you were to go on a grand tour of three places, where would you go? Vancouver, B.C., San Giorgio Canavese in Piemonte, and Cardiff. Is it just me, or are photos of the Tour de France interesting and even captivating? It isn't just you, but it isn't me either. I'm not a racing fan, although I do kind of like horse racing. However, you have indulged my infatuation with flarf poetry and been a damn good sport about it. I am not about to gainsay your own fetish with men in tight pants on bicycles in the French countryside. We all have our kinks. I suspect you may have taken that profile pic selfie while watching the Tour. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

As a libertine I'm widely tolerant so you can show your perversion towards muscled men, I'm not shocked. About the numerous attacks I plead not guilty. I'm indifferent for le Tour and my outrages on Brits aren't that gross.

Oh thank goodness! er, um, I mean thank goodness it's only a little over 11 months until next Tour de France. I can hardly wait for additional posts from you on the Tour de France 2016! If you were to go on a grand tour of three places, where would you go? Paris, France; Rome, Italy; Los Angeles/Hollywood, California. I've hardly been anywhere really. Is it just me, or are photos of the Tour de France interesting and even captivating? Nah, they're pretty spectacular. There is La Vuelta, a cycling tour in Spain to watch, but it's not as spectacular as the Tour de France.
