DRESSED IN BUBBLE WRAP     Bubble wrap is very useful for packing fragile items. But bubble wrap is also great for popping. I love popping bubble wrap. In Nottingham there is a recent fashion for wearing bubble wrap. My girlfriend and I are often seen around the city wearing bubble wrap. I even went to London in my new bubble wrap suit. My girlfriend has a bubble wrap dress, skirt, hat and bikini. At the moment I only have a bubble wrap hat and suit. I did have bubble wrap shirts, trousers, socks and underwear but I popped them all! All our friends think we look very sexy. We’ve even had passers-by offering to buy our clothes we’re wearing. Below are some photos of us wearing bubble wrap. Can you resist popping bubble wrap? Would you wear bubble wrap clothes? Do you think bubble wrap makes for a good look? Here are five bits of bubble wrap trivia: 1. Bubble wrap was invented by accident in 1957 by Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes after their failed attempt to make plastic wallpaper. Instead they found that the ‘wallpaper’ made for great packaging material and, in 1960, they set up the Sealed Air Corporation. 2. Some websites provide virtual bubble wrap which users can pop by clicking on the bubbles. 3. Mugen Puchipuchi, marketed as Mugen Pop-Pop in North America, is a bubble wrap keychain toy made by the Japanese company Bandai – see second photo above. The toy simulates the sound of bubble wrap popping when any of its eight bubbles are pressed. After 100 pops, the toy can be programmed to make a fart sound effect! 4. In, 2008, Bandai released a video game version of Mugen Puchipuchi for the Nintendo Wii. The game is called Ouchi de Mugen Puchi Puchi Wii, which roughly translates to 'In Your Home Infinite Bubble Wrap Pop Pop Wii'. 5.
