Tears are trickling down my cheeks as I write this post! Despite every opinion poll taken before the election and despite my blog I WANNA BE ELECTED post, the Conservative Party secured nearly 37 per cent of votes, gained a small working majority in the House of Commons and will form a majority government of the United Kingdom. Because of the country's first-past-the-post electoral system, majority governments are often formed by parties with no majority of votes cast for them! The results of the general election in terms of seats gained are (with change of seats since the last general election): Conservative Party - 331 (up 24) Labour Party - 232 (down 26) Scottish National Party (SNP) - 56 (up 50) Liberal Democrats - 8 (down 49) Democratic Unionist Party - 8 (no change) Sinn Fein - 4 (down 1) Plaid Cymru - 3 (no change) Social Democratic and Labour Party - 3 (no change) Ulster Unionist Party - 2 (up 2) Green Party - 1 (no change) UK Independence Party (Ukip) - 1 (up 1) Other - 1 (no change) The key highlights of yesterday’s general election are: the rise of the SNP after winning 56 out of 59 seats in Scotland; the rout of the Labour Party in Scotland, once a Labour heartland; the decimation of the Liberal Democrats, yesterday a coalition party but today a fringe party; the dominance of the Conservative Party in England outside the inner cities where poor people live; and every polling company getting it wrong in their predictions and, together, they have just launched an investigation into why professional pollsters are useless! Many established politicians failed to get elected, including Labour’s Ed Balls and the Liberal Democrats’ Vince cable. Three party leaders resigned today, including Labour’s Ed Miliband and the Liberal Democrats’ Nick Clegg. "All political lives", said Enoch Powell, "end in failure". The news today is why the Conservatives did well and Labour didn’t do well. Pundits talk about their policies and strategies, but I have another theory. I’ve posted the faces of five attractive Conservative politicians above and five attractive Labour politicians below. It’s quite clear, at least to me, that British voters prefer to fuck Conservative than Labour! Would you fuck any of these politicians? Are there any fuckable politicians where you live? I voted Labour because Labour are far more fuckable; Conservatives only fuck up. Also, I desperately wanted Margaret Hodge to fuck me after being severely grilled and reprimanded in one of her select committee investigations! Conservatives here have been experts at politics. They know exactly how to use the system to their advantage and they understand the H.L. Mencken adage that no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public. They appeal to their base shamelessly (and who wouldn't) they realize that winning isn't everything, it's the only thing and they understand that the demoralized opposition will give up and stay home, not voting. When the Democratic Party left the old smoke filled rooms where candidates used to be selected they gave up a valuable asset- crooked politicians. The old pols knew how to win and they didn't give a shit about principle. It may be all very kumbaya for the inclusive Democrats, but they kumbaya-ed themselves out of the statehouses and governors' mansions. They may not be able to win a national election as it stands, but they have successfully captured everything else, and they succeeded in packing the Supreme Court. Not a bad forty year plan, and it worked. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

You can't feel as bad as I did on April the 21th 2002 when I learnt the national front leader was in for the second round of presidential election in France. Feeling like a commie German Jew in 1930, i vomited and considerate the possibilities of purchasing a vertical stripped pajamas just in case ... Even with the help of photoshop, none of your pics manages to give me a hard-on. Chuka's gesture isn't uninteresting, though ... and with benefits ... what advantages may I get ? Fuckable politicians in France ? Of course there is ! Never heard of Dominique Strauss-Kahn ?

The right-wing parties tend to organise themselves better at elections, or at least they attract more money from business to fight elections. Unfortunately, even if you combine all the seats of the left wing parties in last week's election, the left would not gained a majority to form an anti-right wing government in this country. The left here need to re-group!

Dear S, I'm so sorry about the outcome of this election. I feel your pain. I would never have any sexual activities with a conservative politician and even baulk at having sex with conservative, right-wing voters. Andy Burnham (above) could have a hot 'n' sexy time with me if he wanted. Richard deNatale, the new leader of the australian greens and Adam Bandt (also green) are sexually appealing politicians in australia but overall, even those whose policy values I share are, on the whole, not physically appealing. If I was attracted to women, Tanya Plibersek would be in with a chance.

It's possible that the pollsters were right at the time they did their polls and voters changed their minds on the day. But it's telling that the best predictor of who was going to win the election from their survey answers was not from the question, 'who will you vote for?', but from the question, 'what party is best for the economy?'. That suggests the pollsters have got some methodological issues to deal with. The campaign was almost dominated by the poll findings of a hung parliament!

Looking on the bright-side, trying to determine who is fuckable, rather than dwelling on the fact that you've all just been fucked. Would you fuck any of these politicians? NO, I would not. Are there any fuckable politicians where you live? No, um, maybe, are we counting Chris Christie? Then yes, probably. Although as a resident of New Jersey, I am sure he has already fucked me, several times over. Five years really isn't that long. Chin up... stiff upper... Keep Calm and, oh fuck it... The Greens did well but the electoral system will always do them in unfortunately. I hope Labour take their time in appointing a new leader to allow some honest soul-searching, and I hope it's not someone who is tainted by the Blair/Brown years. Blair in terms of Iraq and Brown in terms of the economy. Chuka Umunna could be the person.

Four or five of the parties listed are from Northern Ireland. Regarding the Liberal Democrats, they lost their seats to all parties whether Scottish nationalist, Labour or Conservative. The Scottish nationalists took about 50 seats from Labour, but even that doesn't explain why Labour didn't win. Labour didn't make enough gains in England! We are becoming a very divided country.
