TALES FROM THE BEDROOM     One of the best attractions near where I live is Newstead Abbey, once the home of the romantic poet Lord Byron (1788-1824). Newstead Abbey - see above - is set in fantastic gardens, woods and lakes. Peacocks strut around the gardens and there is a very romantic walk under a waterfall. Inside Newstead Abbey, Lord Byron’s life is chronicled and there’s a superb Ottoman art collection, which Lord Byron acquired while fighting in the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire. The most popular room in the house is Lord Byron’s bedroom. Lord Byron was a noted womaniser and visitors want to know who he bedded in his four-poster bed. While the attendant left the bedroom, I quickly stripped off and posed naked on the bed! I enjoy reading Lord Byron’s poetry, and I particularly enjoy wearing Lord Byron-style white shirts! The world’s most expensive bed was given to the Queen, two years ago, on her 60th anniversary of her coronation. The Royal State Bed, made by the mattress company Savoir, took 700 hours of labour and used 1,600 miles of silk thread to make. The company made 60 editions of this bed; each bed costs £125,000 to buy! While attending a Buckingham Palace garden party hosted by the Queen late last year, I was fortunate enough to see the bed - see below. While the attendants left the room, my girlfriend and I sampled the bed - again see below. Our verdict was that the bed is a very fine bed to fuck in! We were later told that the Queen had not fucked Prince Philip in the bed yet. We were the first! Have you slept or even had sex in a four-poster bed? Have you ever slept or had sex in a water bed? What’s your bed like? I’ve never slept in a water bed but I’m open to invitations! My bed is a wooden bed with drawers underneath and on caster wheels; and it cost a hundredth of the price of the Royal State Bed. The main requirement for my bed is that there are easy places on the bed where you can tie rope to. My bed is perfect for rope-tying and certainly much better than the Royal State Bed! The average cost of a bedroom in London is the same as for a house in Wales!       |

Have you slept or even had sex in a four-poster bed? Yes, and the bed was lovely but it did nothing to enhance the experience- SHE was the main attraction. Have you ever slept or had sex in a water bed? Yes. I had waterbeds for years. i also had allergies. Fortunately I grew out of both. What’s your bed like? It's small- a full size, next step up from a single. We like it that way because we like to cuddle and spoon. The big beds we get when we travel are nice but I sometimes get lost and lonesome in them, with all that space to roam around in my sleep. I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes all alone and have to outfit an expedition to find my lover in the dark. Generally I'll send out reconnaissance probes in advance of the main party. If she gets wind (heh heh heh) of my approach she might sally forth to meet the attack head on, which is perfectly acceptable to me- I was looking to engage and welcome the confrontation. Usually there won't be a full on battle in the wee hours and we will instead satisfy ourselves with a brief skirmish, testing the strength of the opponent. I have slept in a four poster bed but never had sex in one....sadly I was alone. I've never been in a water bed. My bed is large, high, with drawers underneath and very very comfy....loads of pillows and a lovely warm electric blanket lol!! ~~Anais Nin~~

Had a waterbed once but couldn't sleep on it....every time I rolled, the water displaced and threw me on the floor!  What’s your bed like? The wife sleeps on a queen size bed...I sleep on a sofa bed in separate room......I sleep in her bed on weekends but nothing happens!

I'm not surprised you look stunningly like Sherlock Holmes. 1 - I have a faint memory of playing with curtains in a bed when a kid - it must have been a four-posted bed ("lit à baldaquins" to keep you improve in french). Does it count ? I'm sure i didn't have sex ... 2 - Waterbed is one of the things i want to try before I die. The rope thing too, but less, though it may happen first, who knows ? I'm not in a hurry. 3- I made my bed (not the matress, the furniture) myself. it's a futon. But i'm these times more often in someone else's

I love those photos of the estate and I had no idea that you were in fact Robert Downey Jnr... That is surprising. With immense regret, I have never slept nor had sex in a four-poster bed but am keen to. I can joyfully report that I have never slept nor had sex in a water bed. My bed is a medium-firm queen ensemble that is flat to the floor (for safety reasons, its use is primarily recreational) without legs or casters and it lacks a proper bedhead or indeed anything to tie anyone to.
