THE COMMITTEE FOR THE PROMOTION OF VICE AND THE PREVENTION OF VIRTUE  In many Islamic countries, there are religious/morality police forces established to enforce Islamic (Sharia) law and customs often overseen by a committee reporting to their leaders. In Saudi Arabia, The Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, locally known as Hai’a, is responsible for enforcing Sharia law. The committee employs several thousand police officers, known as Mutaween, to enforce dress codes, strict separation of men and women, the prayers and other Islamic strictures. In Iran, there is the Basij - see below - is charged with policing the Islamic morals of the county’s citizens. In Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, there was the Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice. In the proto-state known as ISIS, Hisbah is its religious/morality police force. The site’s owners, increasingly concerned that there’s too much virtue and not enough vice on the site, has asked me to canvas support for the establishment of a Committee for the Promotion of Vice and the Prevention of Virtue. This committee will recruit members to enforce vice and to root out virtue by any means necessary. In my discussions with the site’s owners, the key positions on this committee are the chair, treasurer, secretary, vice propaganda (sorry, public relations) officer, member patrol (sorry, member relations) officer, sex party organiser, IT officer, fund-raising officer, legal adviser, vice promotion (sorry, political relations) officer, and chief punishment officer. The site’s owners are keen to recruit members with substantial and proven committee experience. The owners aren’t at all concerned who is a member of its immorality police force; in fact, the owners are of the view that those with a proven track record of immorality and criminality would be ideal members to promote vice and root out virtue. Would you be interested in being a member of the proposed Committee for the Promotion of Vice and the Prevention of Virtue? If so, what position on the committee would you like to apply for? What committee experience do you have? At present, I’m a member of three committees at work. I’ve been a chair of several committees but I feel the chair of the proposed Committee for the Promotion of Vice and the Prevention of Virtue should be a trusted top blogger, which I’m not. So, I‘m happy to be the Committee’s lowly punishment officer!  |

1 - What are the advantages ? Do he owners give a gold membership free to the members of the comitee ? How many secretaries are there at the key ? eeerr ... what exactly would I be mean to do ?  2 - i'd take vice propaganda ! Of course since I'd have to prove my immorality so I wouldn't do the job. Sloth is a capital sin, right ? No way for me to handle communication with others, anyway, I do crap on people relation. As for chairman, no, nor being a great elector, unless the owners of the site finance my travels to confer with my ministers. 3 - I was elected to the administration council of a high school. 14th times, as Pericles was elected stratege in Athens. On the virtual side I've been admin of pages on FB and got fired. I have experience at beeing fired. In the end ... As for the committee you propose, I wouldn't participate anyway. I'm not depraved to the point of pointing out someone to be too much ... anything, even boring ! OK, it's for a laugh, but I'm too much of an anarchist to be even an advisor of a police. Would the owners of the site were offer me evenings with their camgirls, tickets to go fuck'em and luxury hotels to rest after, I'd refuse.

I'm actually not averse to virtue but vice must have its freedom. I have been on 2 separate committees... A trans* organisation committee as the secretary. I hated recording minutes, my handwriting is not quick enough and was also an ordinary member of a "public" housing tenant's committee... I was also their librarian. A thankless job.

I'll second that experience! I was a Teamster steward for a while once too- I believed in the union and its principles, but man! That was a lot like working in a nursery school!

By virtue of my virtue, I am ineligible to become a member of the committee. If so, what position on the committee would you like to apply for? Missionary? Or do I mean emissary? Either way, sending me may prove counterproductive. What committee experience do you have? I have drawn a blank, I am sure there has been something somewhere, but nothing significant enough to be memorable.
