INSPIRATION REQUIRES UNIFORMATION

This is my modest offering to the seventh virtual symposium kindly organised by [blog humorguaranteed]. To see the blog posts in this month's symposium, please go to Participants List for The Seventh Virtual Symposium Inspiration What Inspires Us To.

This month’s symposium’s theme is inspiration. I’ve had a good week to think of something to say about inspiration, but so far I can’t get inspired.

I’ve had lots of coffee – I’m now on my sixth mug of coffee since getting up four hours ago. No inspiration came with coffee.

I’ve smoked a few cigarettes but no inspiration has come with my friends!

I’ve gone to the toilet (or should I say restroom for my American friends?) and no inspiration came from sitting on the toilet, which normally is a great source of inspiration.

Even after a long soak in a bubble bath, no inspiration was forthcoming.

I’ve read a newspaper from which I get a lot of ideas for my blogs. But nothing inspiring occurred in my mind.

Also, I’ve been on a short scenic walk to the shops, but the walk prompted no inspiring thoughts. Even chatting to my friend, who I bumped into while shopping, yielded no inspiration.

It seems I’m uninspired but I’ve decided not to fret. Often I get inspired when not trying to get inspired. A thought will just creep into my mind and eventually make its way to a blog post.

But after realising I’ve only an hour-or-so to post my contribution to the virtual symposium, the obligations of my membership of the cult dawned on me.

I rushed to my bedroom and to get the cult's uniform hanging in my wardrobe. I quickly donned my orange jumpsuit, jumped on my motorbike and went for quick spin around town.

While wearing the uniform (plus obligatory helmet), inspiration suddenly came. I must think; I must write; I must post!

How do you normally get inspired?
If you blog, what normally are your sources of inspiration?

Whoever said inspiration requires perspiration was lying. Inspiration requires uniformation!

(Said with proper drama) I receive my inspirations from life and the environment I live in!!. Actually it is usually via the news and tangentially from ideas that other bloggers give me.

How do you normally get inspired?
It comes from anywhere and everywhere. It would be an interesting exercise to jot down sources of inspiration as well as the ideas themselves. I often forget just what led me to think a certain thing, where I got a specific idea.

If you blog, what normally are your sources of inspiration?
A hell of a good question! Often, I am uninspired, so I just write down the first silly thing that comes into my head...you may have noticed. And then I extemporize from there, follow it wherever it goes , damn the torpedoes and the consequences. As I mentioned in another friend's blog, my mind is a free range chicken. Who knows where some of that shit comes from. But it's in there, and I set it free.

I could be inspired by almost anything but it is often sparked by music....which has recalled a long lost memory.

My inspiration for my blog....comes from Heaven only knows....usually a thought as I am going to sleep....which if I remember it in the morning may become a post on the blog!

To make a long story short, you used your usual helpers of inspiration and it refused to work
until you had the inspiration of posting on that and just found in a snatch the pics to illustrate it ?
I'm not sure to believe you at all
Yet you've got a point : the hurry to write is a source of inspiration, one of the best.

How do you normally get inspired?
Anything could trigger an urge to do something. It could be music, a book, a movie, something my friends did or said... anything, really.

If you blog, what normally are your sources of inspiration?
Usually, it is something I have to get off my chest before I explode, or it could be a fun memory, or something peculiar I read or witnessed. One thing I know - it's never the same.

Meditating doesn't always spark the mind. Sometimes you just have to put on your clown nose and flippers and go to Walmart.

I rather thought that your post was on the humorous side about finding inspiration. Meandering here and there, it showed how sometimes it is damned hard to write.

As to your questions, ahem-
How do you normally get inspired?
Writing for me is like breathing, so it doesn't take much to inspire my writing. On my books, I get ideas from dreams, news sources, sometimes it seems like out-of-thin-air!
If you blog, what normally are your sources of inspiration?
I blog here and in vanilla land. My blogs in vanilla land are narrowly focused, one was on traveling with young children out of the country or on long trips. One was on how I was reluctantly a boat owner, and also reluctantly a wife. The one that is the most active now is my single and dating in my 50s one. reedingallaboutbeingsingle on word press (dot) com.
Here, sex inspires me (or lack thereof), other people's photos or videos. Sometimes I read about sex in a news source and this is one of the few places I can blog about it.

Great post and funny one to boot!

I may not do right, but I do write,
I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life,

Great, GREAT use of photo illustrations to highlight your points. Well done, sir, well done!

How do I normally get inspired? I get annoyed. I tranfer annoyance into humor through a warped lens process I have yet to patent.

What are my sources of inspiration for my blog? My blog has a very specific theme: I rarely write about myself, preferring to focus on events and portrayals of a very small slice of the world. There is nothing more inspiration draining than a blank piece of paper (or the digital eqivalent).

I am also occasionally inspired by the notion that other cult members are likely to tear me to pieces if I don't come up with something for the symposiums... and believe me, there have been at least two occasions during the first seven instances where I was nervous about the topic!

Stop in, read, and offer comments at my "swinging as seen in the media" blog, "Confessions of a Lifestyle Man" humorlife, which is also the home of the monthly virtual symposium. New post: The Virtual Symposium Returns Lets Pick A Topic

    Literally anything can inspire me...

My inspiration comes out of thin air, my head seems to be full of it. lol
As you rightly say, inspiration is everywhere. It's a very dull person who can't get inspired by something!

Blogland, as you say, is also a good source of ideas. Your blog has often prompted ideas in my head.
