#THEDRESS   Above are two photographs of the same dress, which has now gone viral on the internet. For some people, it’s a blue and black dress; for other people, it’s a white and gold dress. Either way, it’s the same dress designed by Roman Originals. It’s all down to our rods and cones in our eyes. Depending on the mix of rods and cones, people can see the dress as blue and black or white and gold. Kim Kardashian, the wife of Kanye West, tweeted: “What color is that dress? I see white & gold. Kanye sees black & blue, who is color blind?” Jean Cocteau said: “The prettiest dresses are worn to be taken off.” I love dresses on or off. I love black dresses! Do you like dresses? If so, what is your favourite type of dress? And why do you like or not like dresses? It took me ages to arrange this fashion show, but I have assembled a show involving top-drawer celebrities. All of whom have donated their fees for this show to the important but neglected charity, spunkycumfun’s retirement fund! Dresses can be very sexy and have the advantage of not needing to be removed, only slightly rearranged for heavenly play. If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin." I always behave. Preferably not well.

I see it as off white and gold. I usually wear trousers when minding the children....they protect my legs from the two crazy dogs my daughter has....who adore me cos I feed them!!!  I wear a dress on days off in the summer....and if going somewhere posh I might bring out a LBD. ~~Anais Nin~~

It's now just past 4am. I was on "inyourfaceplace" and the dress is gold and white. Now I am back here and the top one is blue and black and the bottom one is now gold and white. Rods handle vision in low light, and cones handle color vision and detail. I am now viewing in very low light and the color appears to have changed. Stuff like this gets to me -- amazement, the wonder of us and how we, our bodies, work... So what color is the dress really? Orange and green? What color do you see S. ? Have you tried turning the lights on or off and taking a peek?

I see it as a white dress with gold detail, the white can look faintly bluish but the gold only goes a dull bronze shade for me. I have mixed feelings about dresses... It really depends on the style and whether it is flattering on me... I mostly prefer to wear monochrome (just a single colour) with a major preference for black but I like red, blue and orange. Green and yellow don't work with my skin shades at all and I loathe brown and white is too hard to keep clean. I generally don't wear dresses because I can't afford the ones I really like, most would cost thousands of dollars and be tailored for me. I would never willingly buy a dress that was mass-produced. The one that I'm modelling on my profile was bought under duress and with much frustration. I don't like the busy pattern, the style or the spaghetti shoulder straps or the drab horizontal line across the top of the cleavage. Most of the dresses above are really lovely.

Do you like dresses? Not really, we used to have to wear them everyday at school. I was so happy when girls were allowed to wear pants/trousers. If so, what is your favourite type of dress? An A-line or a princess seam dress, both flare at the bottom, flattering to apple and pear shaped ladies. You know what they say about an apple a day, I'd be very good for someone. And why do you like or not like dresses? I hate pantyhose and dress shoes. I wear clogs, not too many dresses look great with clogs.
